"I'm not going." Sandra said bluntly in a tone that would tell anyone to stop the subject, anyone but him. "Course you are." Gerry told her cheerily, she wasn't even going to tell Gerry about her school reunion but he'd found the letter when searching for a place to hide her Christmas present. "We both are." "I told you what happened last time, did I not?!" "Yes but you're going to go in there and show them that you've changed. You've done well for yourself, you're detective superintendent and you married me!" "Gerry they'll just look at me and think of what I put them all through." "They'll have grown up." "What since 3 years ago?!" "You never know. How about we go in and if anything h happens then we'll leave and go to that new restaurant that you love." "Promise?" "Yes,I won't let anyone say anything bad Sandra." "Come on, we'll be late." Gerry said as he was ready but he hadn't even seen Sandra for just over an hour. "I'm still not sure about this baby." Sandra said softly as she appeared at the top of the stairs. "Sandra honey, you look gorgeous! What's not to be sure about? Remember our deal." "Fine." She was silent the entire journey to the school Sandra had once gone to. Gerry on the other hand had sang every song that had come on the radio. "Don't do that while we're in there." Sandra said as the car came to a halt. Her normally sparkly blue eyes dulled as she stared ahead. "Come on baby." They walked into the reception of the school hand in hand. "So which picture is you?" "That one." Sandra pointed at her picture, which this time around was not defaced. "The years were more than kind to you." Gerry said as she playfully slapped his chest. "Sandra Pullman is that you?" A middle aged woman came over and asked. "Sandra Standing now but yeah, Natalie isn't it?" "Yeah are you coming in?" "Yeah we'll be in in a minute." "She seemed nice." Gerry commented. "She is but not everyone else is." "I'm sure it'll be fine, come on let's go in." "Humour me a minute Gerry, just go in ahead of me." He did as he was told without asking any questions. "See I said it'd be fine." Gerry said as they stood inside the hall which had at least 100 people in all dancing and chatting. "Come on let's get a drink."
