Chapter 1 – Waking up

A/N: This is my first Fanfic I've ever written so some mistakes willbe made so feel free to call me stupid, I'm open for critiques and keep in mind that there will be violence, cursing, and a whole lot more that I can't even think about for the moment so any fellow younglings out there, you have been warned.

Nothing… All I can see is darkness… Nothing to see, nothing to here, nothing to feel… Just nothing… It stayed like this for a while until a faint sound of a heart monitor was the first thing that reached my ear, it was rather annoying… Each second of the constant beeping was driving me more and more crazy. Then, a faint light appeared right in front of me, with each second it became brighter and brighter until I can barely keep my eyes open anymore and the beeping became louder.

Lincoln woke up and stood up from his bed confused. He scanned the room he was in, it was an ICU room. He move his hands so that he can rub his temples. He then felt some sort of fabric that was covering his left arm, he then noticed that it was in a cast, which was weird since he can easily move his left arm, he then felt the same fabric on his right leg. "The fuck?" He exclaimed to no one.

He then proceeded to remove the cast from both his left arm and right leg. He moved them both feeling like they haven't been moved at all for a long time, as a matter of fact, his right arm and left leg felt the same way.

"Oh you're finally awake." A nurse spoke up. Lincoln and the nurse then met eyes, Lincoln then realized that he knew this nurse. "Mrs. Santiago?" He asked "Oh, great you know me!" Mrs. Santiago said with a warm smile. "I thought you guys are moving to the big city?" He asked again. "Oh that! Yeah we were gonna move but we heard on the news that there is a violent gang in that city that are making that place their personal stomping ground." She answered, "Oh okay that's unfortunate. So what are you doing here Ma'am?" he asked again "I'm just gonna check if you're okay." She then walked up to him, "O…kay?" she then looked at the heart monitor, "Heart rate seems normal," she then proceeded to press her hands on his left arm and right leg. "Does it hurt?" She asked. "What? N-no I guess? W-what's happening?" Lincoln asked. "Injury healed drastically. Guess that little girl with the glasses wasn't lying when she injected you with that serum." Mrs. Santiago said with a bit of surprise and disbelief.

"Wait, a little girl made a serum that can heal injuries quickly? How is that even possi- wait… Oh yeah, right, Lisa…" Lincoln thought to himself.

Lincoln's train of thought was cut off when Mrs. Santiago pressed her hand on his head and asked, "Does this hurt?" Lincoln confusingly said 'No' again. "Okay, now" She then went in front of Lincoln and held up two fingers. "How many fingers am I holding up?" Now Lincoln is really confused "Two." Lincoln answered "What's Mrs. Santiago even doing? Nothing even happened to me… wait a minute…"

"Alright, seems like your okay for now." Mrs. Santiago said with a warm smile. "I'm going to contact your family that you're awake and okay now and come to pick you up." When Mrs. Santiago was just about to leave, Lincoln asked, "Wait, Mrs. Santiago… what… happened to me?" She then turned around and raised a brow and confused as to why this boy asked this question. "You forgot?" Lincoln raised a brow. "You forgot didn't you?" She asked again. "Umm, what did I forget?" Lincoln was still confused. "I'm gonna take that as a yes. Well you see, you were ran by a car and had a coma for about a year and a half."

Then the realization hit him, "So that's why I'm here, that's why I had those casts but what could've driven me to go outside and get hit by a-." Then all the memories then came rushing back to him. "Wait! Before you leave! Please don't call my-" He then took a big breath and sighed through his nose. "Please don't call them… I can't let them look at me like this, not like they'll care anyway…" The sadness in his eyes was clear as day, the look of sadness and grief on the boy's face was worrying the nurse but then said, "Lincoln, you have to go home, your family is worried about you." Mrs. Santiago proclaimed. This made the white-haired boy even more depressed, nervous and upset. "Family? For as long as I know I don't have a family anymore...mostly..." He thought. "Just please, don't call them, I don't want to go through all that hell again…" The sides of his eye was now filled with tears and Lincoln tried his best to hold it back. The nurse then felt more worried than before and bad for the boy, "What happened to this poor boy?" Mrs. Santiago asked herself internally. "Fine, I won't call your family, for now." The nurse sighed in defeat. Lincoln then let out a huge sigh of relief, but then started crying which made the nurse upset. Mrs. Santiago then walked up to Lincoln and sat beside him and started comforting the young boy.

"It's getting late so tell you what, why don't you stay with us for awhile and then once we come home, why don't you tell us why you ended up like this?" Lincoln was surprised by the generosity Mrs. Santiago was giving him, "Thank you a lot Mrs. Santiago." He then returned the hug. "Wait, they didn't tell you?" Lincoln asked, "Tell me about what?" she asked. "About how I got to this mess." He said with uncertainty, "No, they just told me that you got ran by a car and needed immediate help." She proclaimed. Lincoln then let out a sigh of relief and bowed his head down. "How 'bout we get you something to eat before we go to my house. Is that okay with you?" she suggested, "Yeah, I'm kinda hungry." His stomach then rumbled, in which the nurse then chuckle at and so was Lincoln. "Thanks again Mrs. Santiago." He said, "No problem Lincoln." They then proceeded to walk down the hall of the hospital and got to the entrance and hopped on to Mrs. Santiago's car. They buckled themselves up and proceeded to drive to the nearest food joint to get a bite to eat.

A/N: And there you go, my first ever chapter of my first Fanfic. What you think? Feel free to tell me if it's bad or good. You're probably confused as to what the plot is for this because I kept it pretty vague but you might understand it in the next chapter.
