CHAPTER 1...
It was a bitter cold winter morning in the tiny village of Godric's Hollow. Big white snowflakes were falling softly, and a peaceful silence settled over the large old homes. A single light was shining from an upstairs window on a large, ivy covered home, at the end of a quiet dead end street. A closer look showed that a man and a woman were huddled together in the glow of an old fashioned fireplace. They both looked underweight, and terribly sad. The man had jet black hair, and a peculiar lightning shaped mark on his forhead. His eyes were by far his most noticeable feature, they were emerald green, and shining with tears. He was gazing tenderly at a round bundle in the arms of the woman. The woman had red hair, but it looked tangled, and uncared for. She had a beautifal round face with full lips, and huge hazel eyes. Eyes that had a mixture of sadness and terror in them, as they stared into the glow of the fire. Something was about to happen, fate was about to tear the young couple apart from the light in their lives. The reached down and took the bundle from the woman. Some of the blankets fell away to reveal a baby's pink face. The baby has her father's sparkling emerald green eyes and her mother's gorgeous red hair. The man tenderly stroked his daughter's cheek and slowly turned to face his wife, who was crying softly, his voice shook as he spoke.

"Oh Ginny," He sighed. "I don't think I can possibly give her up."

Ginny, who was still sobbing in earnest, stood up and wrapped her arms around her husband.

"I know Harry, I know." Ginny's voice faltered but she forced herself to continue. "We both know it's the best thing for her, you know with Voldermort still strong and death eaters still on our tails. Trust me, I've used your invisibility cloak to watch these muggles all day and they are the most kind hearted people i've ever seen. She'll be in the best of hands, i'm sure of it. Besides she will live a happier life away from the chaos of our world."

"I know, it's just really sad thinking that i'll probably never see her again." Harry said after a long silence.

"I have no doubt that someday fate will bring us together again." Said Ginny quietly, taking her now sleeping daughter from her husband.

Suddenly, from the distance, a great shower of green sparks shot into the sky.

"It's time Harry." Ginny whispered,"Are you ready?"

"Yes." Harry lied. He knew he'd never be ready to leave his daughter and his normal, safe life.

By now both Harry and Ginny had tears streaming down their faces. They both leaned and kissed the sleeping baby on the cheek. Ginny carefully laid her daughter in the cosy armchair by the fireplace, and placed beside her, two crumpled fifty dollar bills, and the letter that she and Harry had carefully written. She and Harry looked at eachother, knowing that this was goodbye. Harry reached down and stroked his daughter's cheek.

"Goodbye Aslynn Potter," He whispered in her ear. "Goodbye and good luck."

He and Ginny stepped back from the baby and joined hands. They gazed one last time at their sleeping daughter, then the turned and disappeared into thin air with a large crack.
