She met him in Agrabah, sitting in on top of one of the houses, singing.

Very, very badly.

He sounded like a croaking frog that was trying to sing heavy rock.

However, she was tired. If the only decent place to rest without having to get involved in a battle was next to a screeching cow, then so be it. Her ears may die, but at least she'd get a break.

(She wondered if the heartless were getting scared away by his music. Perhaps she should try bringing Yuffie next time she went somewhere…)

She sits down, across from him, and leans her head on the hall. Sigh. Peace…somewhat.

Then, the music stopped.

"Miss…are you actually listening?"

Tifa opens her eyes, and finds the musician staring at her with hopeful disbelieving eyes.

"Yeah…" She starts off uncomfortably, not sure what to say.

(Please don't ask for money. I barely have any for myself.)

The musician smiles, a childish look lighting up his whole face.

"Wow, really? That's the first time that's ever happened! Please, tell me if there's anything you want me to play!"

Tifa finds herself slightly unnerved by the look on his face. It was so bright, so happy…she somehow felt guilty about how she thought his music was bad earlier. Even so, she didn't really want to him to play anything either…

"How about…a lullaby?" She asks weakly. Seriously, no one can ruin a lullaby…right?

…Suddenly, she's very much regretting her choice.

However, she finds herself surprised when the musician starts playing his guitar…thing. It's such a contrast to the banging he was doing earlier…she wouldn't even think it was possible for him to play something so softly, so gently.

"Lie me a lullaby, tonight…" He starts to sing. "Hold my hand, tell me "it'll be alright" cause it's true…I believe in you…"

Once again, she's surprised by the sudden change. Yeah, he was still bad and out of tune but… it somehow fit. The croaking frog from earlier somehow became a soothing cricket.

(Show me the stars are still alive…Show me the clouds that hold up the sky…)

Looking over the guy now, Tifa realizes he looks quite odd. Obviously he was not a native of Agrabah, with the mullet and the funny black cloak on his (she wonders where he got it). He also looked quite young too, at most about eighteen.

(And say…)

She wonders what he's doing out here.

("It'll be okay"…)

She closes her eyes and let's herself listen the music, deciding it was too much of a hassle to think.

(I won't let you go…I don't want to know, what's it like to be alone…)

Moments like these were to die for.

(So cry me a summer sky, tonight…

I'll hold your hand as we share the reflected light

Of the moon

And I'll say,

"It'll be over soon")

The musician ends his song, and oddly enough, Tifa does find herself and bit more relaxed, and bit more…light.

How long has it been since she last felt like that…

"Hey kid…What's your name?" She calls out.

"Demyx. And you, miss?"

"…Tifa."

She stays till dawn, listening to his (not-so-bad anymore) songs.

AN: Jaded Tifa is fun. Along with Lonely Demyx. The song is written by me, though I'm not if you want to hear me sing it :D (Don't ask about the title. I don't know. Seriously.)
