Introducing Sailor Sun!

Chapter 1 - The Beginning by Clarachu É

How beautiful the sun is. It shines over all of us in the daytime, and hides away at night. On that beautiful star was a kingdom, the Sun Kingdom. There reigned King Luminary and Queen Sonia. Happiness was a way of life. To their even greater surprise, Queen Sonia was to have a baby. Finally, after months of preparation on a hot day in August (but aren't they all?), Queen Sonia went into labor. Hours passed, and a doctor came up to the King. King Luminary did not expect the horrible news he heard next.

"I'm sorry," the doctor stated solemnly, "Sonia's heart wasn't strong enough to withstand the stress of the baby's birth. Your daughter was delivered, but your wife is dead."

In the middle of the streets of Tokyo, two female voiced called out:

"MOON CRYSTAL POWER!" Mother and future daughter closed their eyes and let transformation take over them (with snazzy music in the background!). They ended with identical poses, their hand on their head. The daughter from the future, Rini, Sailor Mini Moon, held out her bell and pleaded on one knee,

"Pegasus, protect people's dreams!"

A flying white horse with a golden horn on his forehead appeared and gave strength to Sailor Moon and Sailor Mini Moon. With one swipe of Serena's moon wand (and more snazzy music), they were able to defeat the enemy that had been threatening Tokyo. Rini ran up to thank Pegasus and gave him a hug. It was then that for the first time, he revealed his true self to the Sailor Scouts. The wide-spread beautiful wings she once knew became human arms; Pegasus was a human!

"Pegasus," Rini exclaimed, blushing and almost embarrassed, "But how?" Before Rini got a chance to become excited, the human boy spoke to her.

"My name is Helios, the human form of Pegasus. Now that your enemy is finally destroyed, I must leave Earth. I am the young guardian of the Dream realm, and I must return there." Tears welled up in the little girl's eyes but Serena, Sailor Moon, her future mother, came and held her hand as they both listened to him. "Rini," he continued, "You will always be in my dreams." With that, he gave her a kiss on the cheek, turned around and turned back into Pegasus. She vowed to herself that they would see each other again, and waved as he flew away into the sun.

He really did fly into the sun, for that is where he had been summoned by the Sun King Luminary and his court. As Pegasus arrived, King Luminary and a court official caring for the Princess greeted him. Luminary, his eyes still red from the past month's crying, beseeched Helios.

"My best and most trusted Helios," he started, "My wife died giving birth to this little girl. I loved Sonia so much, and this cursed baby took every dream we had away from us!" Helios, saddened by not only the King's loss, but by his harshness, now understood what had to be done.

"I know that you are young, Helios, but you will be a very suitable father, because you know children very well. You know how they act, and what they dream of. Please Guardian," said the King on one knee, "Please say you will raise this girl, and take this agony out of my life." Helios then replied,

"It would be my honor, your majesty." Helios signed the contract, and flew home with the Sun Princess, home to the Dream Realm.
