A SIDE STORY OF SNOW COVERED LOVE

"Jak!" Snow yelled trying to reach the berries that hung from the tree tops. Her mouth watered for the pink fruit, and as she stood on her tip toes and stretched for it she let out a very angry growl. "JAK! Help me!" tears started to prick at her eyes, the strain from stretching and jumping were starting to hurt. Normally she would have just climbed up the tree like she always had in the past but the bulge in her tummy kept her from doing so.

"Snow," Jak puffed, "w-what's wrong? Are you h-hurt?!" he panted. His face was red and Snow felt slightly ashamed for tiring him out like that. He had been so conserved that he had transformed into his light eco half and flown to her!

She blushed deeply, the berries forgotten. "I'm sorry Jak. I'm okay, not a scratch on me."

Jak fell backwards onto the ground, "Don't do that to me! You know transforming takes it out of me, I was really worried." He lifted his head and gave her a small smile, "But as long as you're okay that's all that matters." He laid his head back down and waved his arm at her, "So what did you need my little snow bunny?"

She grinned, he looked so defeated and relaxed at the same time. "I wanted the berries…he seems to like them best." Jak lifted his head just in time to see Snow gently caressed her stomach.

So it was of life or death. He thought to himself with a grin. She does say he kicks like a yakow when he was hungry. Jak stopped breathing for a minute, then stuttered out, "D-did you just say…he?"

She looked at him with a smile, "I'm spoken to the precursors and they say it will be a little boy. He will have his father's hair but his mother's eyes." Her brow furrowed, "Though I hope they are wrong and he gets your eyes." She looked at her stomach with a sad look of desperation.

Jak got up and dusted the dirt off before walking over to her and giving her stomach the lightest of touches, while his other hand reached up to the fruit and wrenched it off the tree. "Don't make that face Snow. If the baby has your eyes, then they will be the most beautiful eyes in the world. Next to yours of course." He handed her the pink berries and kissed her cheek. "No one is going to hurt our child. And who knows, kid might have some crazy powers like us? Maybe they'll be able to control eco or, or maybe be a sharp shooter! OH or an awesome fighter," he paused in his excitement, "like his mom." He held her hand, looking into her eyes they changed to that deep purple and gold he loved so much.

"You're starting to sound like Daxter." She chuckled. Her body relaxed and she gazed at the fruit. She licked her lips before popping on after another of the berries into her mouth. Oh, now that was tasty. She murred to herself. Looking up she saw another bushel of them hanging and pointed them out to Jak. He obliged with a smile and grabbed them to.

"See, if you told me I would have grabbed a basket." He teased.

"Hey, when my cravings start kicking in I lose all brain function and you know it." She snorted crossing her arms.

"Oh, is that why you are out in the forbidden forest all by yourself without telling anyone?" he raised an eye brow his voice only slightly agitated. Jak saw her blush deeply, he didn't even know her face could go that read, it was a stark difference compared to her normally pale skin. "Besides that, Daxter invited us over tonight for dinner. Feeling up to it?" he asked while grabbing another thing of berries and stuffing them into his side bag.
