Prompt: What happened after Leena saved Claudia from the water...thing. Comfort.

oxoxoxoxo

"Power's back," Claudia mumbled, typing on the keyboard with a relieved slump of the shoulders.

"They're both safe." Leena breathed as she closed her Farnsworth with a click. "He had to stamp it."

"What was it?" the computer nerd asked, putting the computer on standby.

Leena shrugged slightly. "Some tipping jar, I'm sure Artie will have a story for us when he gets back."

Claudia stood up and stretched, wincing at the pain in her back before kneading the back of her neck with a fist. "Ugh… Suckiest day ever." Leena pursed her lips in acknowledgement as they made their way to the office. The ride over was quiet until both women were safe and sound, sat on separate chairs. "You know…" Claudia began, "You can go home if you want… I got this."

Leena smiled gently and shook her head. "I wanna stay… if that's okay?"

Claudia eyed her suspiciously but nodded and opened the fridge. "Coke?"

"Sure," Leena nodded and swapped seats to sit on the couch. She watched her friend closely until Claudia approached and sat down next to her, offering her a bottle before taking a sip of her own. Leena observed the younger woman from the corner of her eye, and when she felt brave enough, wrapped her arm around the redhead's back, rubbing slowly. "It's okay." She murmured. Claudia's shoulders tensed even more. There was silence for a while, until the first sniffle was heard. "Whoever it is who has the Warehouse in his sights?" Leena kept her voice low, "We'll get through it." She watched Claudia's shoulders shake. "We always do, right?"

Claudia's face scrunched up and though she knew she'd be embarrassed later on, she needed a good cry. Turning, she buried herself against her friend's chest and felt the comfort of two willing arms holding her tight. She couldn't even believe that the noises from the sobs were her own, but the gentle hushes being whispered in her ear made her feel a tad better. "Sorry," she mumbled after a few minutes, pulling away from where her face had been resting against Leena's neck.

"Nothing to be sorry about," Leena shrugged. Before she could stop herself, she flicked a tear off from Claudia's cheek with her thumb. Claudia blinked. Leena swallowed. "I uhh… I have an idea."

Claudia took a swig of her coke and sniffed. "Is it safe?" Her lips twitched.

Leena smirked. "Depends if Pete finds out."

Biting the edge of her thumb, Claudia concealed a large grin. "You wanna raid the Pete Cave, don't you?"

"Claudia, he has a stove and ready-made s'mores and sleeping bags." It was said in a rare whine, something that caused Claudia's eyes to widen in surprise.

"Well then… Lead the way, Batman." the younger woman smiled and paused as she got to the door. "Hey, Leena?" She rubbed her nose and sniffed one last time. "Thanks. Oh… and for saving my life," she snorted. "Thanks again."

Leena nodded, knowing there would be more girl-talk ahead, especially while they were tucked in their respective sleeping-bags. Though you'd love it if there was only one, Leena's inner voice chided and it caused her to straighten her back in annoyance. "Anytime, Claud," she put on a smile, and finally followed her friend out of the office. Anytime.
