Countless zombies and monsters were closing in. There was no way to defend himself. This was it, he was going to die. Be torn apart and eaten. All he could do was curl up against the wall as a zombie lurched forward, reaching for him and…

Alfred sat up quickly, his eyes wide as he clutched his covers, his knuckles turning white. He sat for a moment, panting softly before quickly looking around. Just as he thought, it was another nightmare. He'd been having a lot of them lately, ever since he started watching all of Alexia's little experiments. It was like living in a horror movie. Although he had to admit, it was a really entertaining horror movie. Still, the young boy was shaking from his nightmare and there was only one person that could calm him down.

He slowly slid out from under his covers, walking across the floor, occasionally jumping whenever something moved or he thought he heard a noise. He slowly snuck up to the large stone doorway that divided their rooms, hesitating for a moment before silently sliding it open and sneaking into Alexia's room. Alright, he'd made it this far, but now what? He shuffled over to stand beside Alexia's bed, staring down at her. She looked so beautiful when she was sleeping. Then again, she always looked beautiful. He stared a while longer before she spoke.

"Are you going to stand there all night, or are you going to tell me what you want?"

Her words caught him off guard, causing him to jump slightly and let out a small squeal, before putting together a string of awkward stutters. He wasn't exactly sure what to tell her. He knew that if he said he'd had a nightmare and needed a hug, she'd just tell him that he was being childish and to go back to bed. Eventually, Alexia became frustrated, sitting up and watching him.

"Well, brother? What is it?"

"I… I um… Ah… This is going to sound silly but… I… I um… Had a nightmare, you see… With zombies and monsters… And um… Now I just don't want to be alone."

Alexia continued to watch him for a moment before giving a small, frustrated sigh and shifting over in her bed. This action confused Alfred, so he just stood where he was, not sure what to do. She gave another sigh, petting the empty space beside herself.

"Come on, brother. Before I change my mind."

Alfred gave a quick nod, a wide grin on his face as he got into the bed beside his sister, happily curling up next to her. He'd just expected her to give him a pat on the head and send him on his way, but this was much better.

"Thank you, Alexia…"

He yawned softly, closing his eyes and almost instantly drifting off to sleep. She stared at him for a moment before smiling and placing a gentle kiss on his forehead before lying back down next to him.

"You're welcome, Alfred."
