Pam always knew somewhere deep, deep down inside that she could never work at Dunder Mifflin without Michael. Despite all of the stupid things he had said and done on countless occasions, her heart couldn't help but melt at the sight of him hurting, puppy dog eyes poised at anyone that would return his glance.
"Do you really want to do this?" Jim asked her, his eyes filled with confusion and concern. "Yes, it's crazy, I know, but maybe this is my one chance to show what I'm really capable of." Pam kissed Jim softly and felt his body relax a little. She loved him, but she couldn't resist taking this risk, albeit scary and most likely to fail miserably.
As Pam turned to Michael he beamed at her and she had no doubt that she was making the right decision. They made their way to Michael's car, and before they got in Michael caught Pam in a big, bear hug. It was awkward; she couldn't move her arms and just laid her chin on his shoulder, letting him enjoy the moment. He let go and lightly slapped her on the shoulder. "Pam, Pam! My right hand man! Or woman." She rolled her eyes and smiled. But for a second she thought she enjoyed that hug a little too much, and maybe she was doing this because she had always loved Michael.
