Heyo all! Another one of my random drabbles... I hate that it's kinda Sakura centred and that it is SasuSaku hinted (Gags) but I write them as it comes to me. I hope no one I know dies of a heart attack knowing I wrote a SasuSaku... anywho... It's not BETAed, sorry. Now on with the fic!
Sakura sat outside Chouji's room, waiting for Ino to finish visiting the boy. She still coupldn't believe that Sasuke had left the village, and hurt Naruto as bad as he did. Sasuke was always the one protecting Naruto. For him to have done that..?
"Arigotou... Sakura."
What had he meant by that? Thank you for what? All she had done was gotten in his way when he was leaving. He wouldn't thank her for that, would he?
Sasuke had never been one to make a whole lot of sense to anyone but Naruto. She didn't like to admit it, but she would. Would the blonde know anything? Would he know what Sasuke had meant?
She kept replaying the night he left in her head. She had just finished begging him to let her go with him. He had said that she should stay, and that she didn't have a good enough reason to go with him—that she was better off here. If anything, he was the one that had saved her from a life with that bastard Orochimaru. He had kept her safe again and again. Why was he the one thanking her?
"Oi, Billboard. Are you ok?" Sakura was snapped out of her thoughts by the voice of her best (girl) friend.
"Yeah, Ino. I'm alright." Ino didn't seem to believe her, but she didn't ask questions, knowing that thoughts of the last week were probably running through her head. "Are we gonna go see Lee, or sit here doing nothing all day?"
Sakura got up, and started walking to his room. On the quiet walk there, she got lost again.
He said thank you. Thank you..? It wasn't sarcastic, like his normal tone; he really meant what he said. He just couldn't figure out what that was? His voice was... soft, almost... sad? Sad... that didn't fit him. He seemed happy, albeit hesitant. What was going on in his head that night?
"Sasuke-kun, Orochimaru-sama wants to see you tonight." Sasuke glared at the white haired man in his door way; the man that had been Naruto's friend for a short time, a short while ago.
"Arigotou," he muttered, swiping the cloth up and down the blade of his new Katana. Kabuto left without another word.
He frowned. Arigotou; he was saying that word a lot lately. First to Sakura, then to Kabuto.
"Arigotou... Sakura." His eyes narrowed, and in a split second, he threw the sword at his wall; lodging it there securely.
He felt stupid for saying it now. What the hell was he thanking her for? She had tried to get in his way! She had always annoyed him when they were on the same squad, and she said some of the most heartless things. She didn't even realize that what she said hurt... that probably made him angrier than anything. What the hell did he have to be thankful to her for?

"Please Sasuke-kun! I'll do anything, just please don't go!"
He shook his head, trying the get her tear streaked face and voice away from his thoughts.
Was that it? Was that why he had said it? Because he cared enough to want to stay with him? That couldn't be it, could it?
"Arigotou, Naruto," Sasuke whispered, staring down at the troubled face of the blonde he knocked out. He felt his head band slip from his forehead. The metal clanged against the stone below them.
"Stupid... So stupid... all of us..."
RandR all!
