A/N: This is a poem I wrote approximately two years ago. I just found it laying around on a diskette I discovered buried in my desk drawer earlier tonight and decided I'd post it here to see what kind of reviews I got for these.

Enjoy,

Vampire's Feast

By: PernDragonrider

His ice-cold hands gently caress the arms,

His gaze is warm and surely he means no harm.

Breathe as soft as a warm summer breeze whispers over your lips,

His slight quick smile is enough to make the heart skip.

Slowly so very slowly do his lips move to the side of your neck,

There, a quick sharp stinging pain followed by pure sensual bliss.

Gently you're lowered to the ground,

Left there in the light of day to be found.

This is how it must feel for those who're caught under their spell.

Being drained of your life's blood to feel your death's knell.

Vampires are creatures of the night.

Sleeping by the sun's destroying light.

Then coming to be as the light of the sun wanes.

Feasting again upon the blood that runs in our veins.

Embraced he was centuries ago.

His face is young, his smile so sweet, his soul so aged.

Sunlight and darkness together we mingle,

Never knowing if one time he will linger.

Vampires to you are creatures to fear,

For my love I can only spare a tear.

My love is a creature of the night.

In his arms though I need never feel fright.

For embrace me never he will,

And though I die in the bright light of day I'll love him still.

Snuggled warm against his pale white side,

Gently I cleanse the dark red tears from his eyes.

I love him as deeply as the ocean stands,

But one day he'll see me crumble into sand.

His looks, they'll not change with the passing of time.

Eternal youth, but at what price?

Living as my vampire lover does his preternatural life.
