A/N: Does the Abe household have servants? I've never seen one in the anime. Given their status, there should be some. Or does the shikigami help with the rest of the housework?
Disclaimer: Not mine.
Guren = thoughts
Mokkun = actions
----------------------------------------------------
Guren has never doubted that Seimei is a crafty old fox, but this is really taking it a bit far. After all, how many people can successfully hook up their grandson with a first princess? And, it isn't hard for him to convince everybody to go along with this plan. Yoshimasa quietly approves of the arrangement, while his wife teaches and delegates the responsibility of taking care of Masahiro to Akiko, who happily devotes her time to learning from Tsuyuki, insisting that she has to help out with the chores since she is staying here.
Mokkun snorts. Bringing meals to the room, mending clothes, sending him off to work… Mothers may perform some of these duties, yes. Distant relatives, especially higher ranking ones, do not. Akiko knows the rules, Seimei most definitely knows, hell, even Guren himself knew!
Yet Masahiro takes it at face value, after his initial shock. It has even become a habit. Padding besides him on their way out, Mokkun snorts again, earning himself a sideways look.
Helping out, indeed! Such an innocent, courteous and convenient way of putting it. Everybody else can see it for the training-of-wifely-duties that it is. Only Masahiro - child prodigy, kind, generous, self sacrificing and incredibly dense Masahiro - will fall for it.
Jumping onto Masahiro's shoulder, Mokkun needles him "Ne, Akiko's snacks are really tasty. She'll make a good wife one day." and waits for him turn into a matching color with his haori.
"Mokkun!"
Ahh, Masahiro never disappoints him.
Reviews are love.
