Title: Sm:)e
Charcter: Helen Magnus
Rating:K
Summary: AU where Helen is born blind.
Author notes: I was on Ao3 today and found two lovely stories written by stellations ('I wanna break every clock' and 'For the rest of my life') that explore this premise so I thought that it would be fun to do my own.
Special thanks to my beta.
Hope you all enjoy.
There is a lot that people take for granted.
There are some who take the bigger things for granted,
But most just take the little things for granted.
Most will always know what they look like,
Or, at the very least know what others look like.
I on the other hand, have never had that luxury.
Yes, I can understand the arrangement of their features by touching their face,
But in this day and age, there are certain ideas dictating, who and what a woman should be, and being blind is yet another thing that is seen as 'abnormal'.
So, my father has helped me my entire life, making it so that only those who I wish to know, will know of my handicap.
Which, of course, I will be forever grateful for, but that means that I only know how my father's face and my own appear to be.
And I think that the saddest part about that fact is that I didn't mind,
I just didn't care.
At least not until I met them...
So, first off, I know that this was very short, but it's a one-shot and this is really just a test to see if you all like the premise.
In recent times, I have been getting complaints that my work needs to be linger, but for me the length of the story doesn't matter as long as it was well written. So if you do review please don't complain about the lenght, I'm just tired of hearing it.
On a better note:
I'm thinking about exploring this idea some more, but I don't know. What do you guys think?
Hope you all have a good rest of your day (or night).
