The Avenger lit a cigarette as he stared off into the distance. He was asked to accompany the queen to a nearby cliff that overlooked the ocean where she was going to offer flowers and a prayer to the country she devoted her life and love to. He took a whiff and exhaled a cloud of smoke as he looked up at the sky.

"You boldly speak of love as if it's the very thing that drives you." He faced the queen, who was now standing beside him, holding a a bouquet of white lilies in her hands. "I can tell beneath that mask. You have experienced what it is like to be beyond love and hate, to taste despair and a desire for revenge so strong that it consumes your soul."

The girl beside him just smiled in response as she threw the flowers into the sea. She watched as the petals flowed along the summer breeze, and gazed into the horizon until they grew smaller and smaller.

The Count turned his face away from her to look at the sea once more. "That kind of thinking is what led to your demise, your Majesty."

Marie giggled in response which confused the man. "But my death led to the glory of my nation, did it not? Then my feelings were not in vain." She took a step forward and stretched out her hands, ready to proclaim her feelings before the open sea.

Beside her, the man also expressed his current thoughts, but quietly this time. So quiet that only he could hear for there were numerous people who were weak in mind and spirit, and she was not one of those. He smirked and faced the sea as well. Together, they muttered.
