"Aww come on! This is the fifth time you beat me!" Lance looked over towards her, hand on his leg. "I want a rematch!"

Pidge stretched and yawned. "Maybe tomorrow, Lance. I'm feeling pretty tired. Besides, I'm going to beat you again like I did the previous times."

"You were just lucky the last five times!" Lance pouted, crossing his arms. "Just one more and you can get to bed, alright?"

She was going to open her mouth to speak, but she only sighed. She figured one more wouldn't hurt too much.

"Fine, just one more quick match and we're going to bed. Just don't cry to me when I kick your ass again." Pidge smirked smugly, picking up the controller again.

"Oh, you're on!"

They started up another match using the same characters as before. Similar to the matches before, she was starting to win. Lance began to press on the buttons and moved the analog stick a little harder while Pidge was still playing calmly. Lance's health went down quite quickly. He licked his lips as he hardly did any damage to her.

The final blow played in slow-motion, showing she won the first round. The second round began with both trying to get the other's health down. Pidge's eyelids started to fall down, but she forced them to stay open. Lance's health depleted so much that if he were to get hit one or two more times, he would be done for. Pidge made her character jump and kick Lance's from above. The "player one wins" text appeared on the screen.

His jaw dropped. "Are you serious, I can't-"

He was interrupted when he felt Pidge's head on his shoulder. He looked to his left and saw how she fell asleep. Her hands were open enough where the controller could fall out of her hands at any given moment. Lance groaned as he put down the controller. He removed the other controller from Pidge's hands as well.

Lance got up slowly and then carefully picked her up. He left the room and went to Pidge's room. He opened the door and carefully stepped around the stuff on the floor, trying to get to her bed.

"She really needs to tidy up in here..." He whispered to himself.

He laid her down onto the bed. Lance removed her glasses slowly and closed them, putting them somewhere far enough away from her where they wouldn't get damaged yet close enough for her to grab them later.

He looked back to Pidge, seeing the yellow light glow on her skin and hair. She only seemed like an angel sleeping there, looking very much at peace. Looking closer, he was able to see she had a slight smile on her freckled face. Lance bent down, placed his hand near Pidge, and gave her a kiss on her forehead.

"Goodnight, Pidge." Lance softly told her despite the fact she was asleep.

The paladin removed his hand from the bed and went to go back to his room. He felt a tug as he was about to leave, causing him to look back. She had a hold of his hand and forearm. Lance couldn't help but smile. He slowly removed his arm from her grip. As a result, she rolled onto her right side.

She started mumbling in her sleep. Out of curiosity, Lance bent down to hear what she was saying. He couldn't make out nearly everything she was saying. The only words that he was able to make out were 'I love you'.

Lance quietly chuckled. "Love you too, Pidge." He whispered to her.

He then got up and left the room, looking at the younger paladin as he walked out.
