Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow
by Bagting Hangin
Kurt burrowed his cheek into the soft fabric that covered Blaine's shirt-clad shoulder. They were in the middle of the Hudmels' living room, holding each other and murmuring goodbyes inside the house because unlike heterosexual teenagers, they stood a chance of being hurt if they said their goodbyes on the porch like other people. Be that as it may, Kurt still enjoyed what he could of the moment: Blaine's arms around his midsection, the smell of Blaine's subtle cologne in his nostrils, and Blaine's breath washing over the skin of his neck as he breathed Kurt's name.
As Blaine once again exhaled, the tiny hairs on Kurt's neck stood on end and pleasant shivers made their way from the base of the paler boy's spine to his nape and back down again. He gripped Blaine tighter to him even as Blaine clutched onto him and held him as if he wanted to merge their bodies together.
Kurt drew back and looked at Blaine's equally-distraught face. "I don't want you to go home."
Blaine grinned and traced his fingertip along the apple of Kurt's cheek. "I don't want to go, either but I don't live here. Your dad drew the line at eight o'clock."
The countertenor pouted even though Blaine had spoken only the truth.
The curly-haired former Warbler caught Kurt's eye and grinned reassuringly. "In just a few years, we will never have to separate for the night. We will be living together -"
"Wedding first!" Burt's voice interjected from where the elder Hummel was sitting on the couch, his eyes never leaving the Buckeyes game.
Both boys chuckled at that and Blaine yelled back, "I wouldn't dream of anything otherwise, sir!"
From Chris Hudson's chair came another voice – Finn's. "Good that you remember, Tom Thumb. That's my little brother!"
Kurt rolled his eyes even as he resumed his former position, his cheek nuzzling Blaine's five-o'clock shadow. "I'm looking forward to it too, Blaine. Anything to get me away from these two."
