Silver Secret and Black Dreams

Prologue: Silver Reunion

Light blue eyes watched as green fields pasted by in a blur. A raven haired girl sighed before resting her forehead on the train window.

'It's been so long since I've seen my uncle… I'm so glad he's letting me stay with him this summer… I don't think I could have handled it at the shrine.' As silver blue eyes began to slip behind pale eyelids a loud slam, of a compartment door, roused her from her light slumber.

Pale eyes rose to a face of a handsome man, standing tall and proud. 'He looks so familiar… Why can't I place it?' Cold, thunderstorm grey, eyes sparked in recognition before softening at the sight before him.

"Kagome…" The girl, now recognized as Kagome, stood up in haste embracing her first best friend.

"Draco Malfoy! How are you doing?" Draco smiled in reply "I'm doing okay… But how are you?" Concern was etched into his dark grey eyes "You're so thin and pale… and you look so sad…"

'What is wrong with Kagome…? The Kagome I know is always happy… Why is she so sad…?'

Kagome gave a sad smile. 'Of course he would notice… He was my first and still best friend… He's nothing like…' Tears began to glisten at the corners of her eyes. 'This is so stupid… I can't even say that bastards name without breaking out into tears'

Draco watched as tears slowly fell from Kagome's eyes. As small sobs began to rack her small frame Draco sat down next to her and brought an arm around her embracing her. Kagome, feeling the comforting arm around her, turned to the warm chest and cried for the first time, since she came back from the Feudal Era.

'This is so hard… Watching her cry and knowing I can't do anything about it… It makes me feel so helpless!'

Kagome gave a dry mirthless laugh. "You must find me so weak… Crying over something so stupid…"

Draco shook his head before replying. "Tell me your story and I'll be the judge of that." So Kagome told him everything. She told him about how she came to be in the Feudal Era, everything she knew about the Jewel of Four Souls, her journeys, her enemies and friends, and the final battle. Draco was shocked at what hisKagome had gone through in two years.

"What you must think of me Draco…" Draco just shook his head. "Kagome, I think you are the kindest, caring, strong and bravest person I have ever met… Since you shared your story with me let me share mine."

Draco shared his life with Kagome. What he has lived through day by day, how he was treated by his parents daily, and the abuse both mentally and physically. At the end of his tale he watched as Kagome silently cried.

"Why are you crying Kagome?" Kagome sobbed in grief "I cry for you, because your tears have all been used."

Draco gave a small grief-filled smile. "Do not cry for me Kagome, for I have embraced it. It is a part of my past and my present and if I were to leave my past behind what is to be my purpose in the present and future…"

"Oh Draco…" Kagome leaned in towards Draco and embraced him as his arms encircled her as both sat together in each others embrace, waiting for this journey to end.

Okay this is really my first fic that I'm actually writing and sticking with so be nice… I'm not too sure whether I want a Draco/Kagome pairing or a Sesshomaru/Kagome pairing… Although, it will be harder for me to write a Sesshomaru/Kagome pairing… ;; If you have a preference leave a comment or e-mail me 'kay…?
