Hey people who may or may not have read this fan fiction regularly. It took a looooong time, but I have finally decided that the current plot line and writing style does not sit well with me. So much so that I have decided to do a massive overhaul for The Crimson Guard; hopefully it will be easier to read and generally be more enjoyable. I'm adding on to the history of Equestria, fleshing it out so to speak, to have my original characters have a more tangible back story. I'm also working on incorporating more of the canon into my fan fiction. Hopefully I'll find a happy medium between the source material and my original materials. To make this document less of a journal post, there is a piece of the new first chapter below.
Crimson Bristle winced as the dark magic of Craig, a human, slashed across his face. He was cornered between the color tanks in the Cloudsdale Rainbow Factory, with nowhere to run. Then he remembered what Rainbow Dash had told him not to long ago.
"Blue is made from Sky Geyser gas," she had told him, "it's super-cooled in these tanks with liquid nitrogen. I'm not sure why, but it's supposed to be really cold and under a lot of pressure." Crimson Bristle gripped the hilt of his sword between his jaws and cut into the thick tubes labeled "CAUTION! Liquid Nitrogen is EXTREMELY Cold!". White vapors washed over Craig; he slowed his steady march, stopping altogether with an outstretched hand inches from Crimson Bristle's face. Ice grew over his body, the dark magic flames over his hands dying. The hex placed on Crimson Bristle lifted, and the Crimson Guard felt his magic course through his veins once more. He closed his eyes, taking deep breaths to steady his battle-hardened nerves.
"That was awesome!" a relaxed voice called from overhead.
"Not now Derpy." Crimson Bristle opened his fierce orange eyes to survey the wreckage of the Rainbow Factory.
Please, tell me what you think. I really want to make this a success and I'll consider it a success if even just one person enjoys reading this serial. I've set my target re-debut in between USA's Thanksgiving (Canadian Thanksgiving is next year!) and the end of November. Stay classy people.
