Second, I know, Haunted Mansion is the name of the haunted mansion in WDW, but I will write about Phantom Manor, the french haunted mansion, in DLRP.

Thunder Mesa, 1860
There was in this little town a mine (the "Thunder Mesa Mining Compagny"). A legend was famous in Thunder Mesa : the mine was cursed. If anybody found the "thunder bird", an Indian spirit, a catastrophe would fall on Thunder Mesa.
The mine was directed by Henry Ravesnwood, who had built a house on hills next to Rivers in the Far West. But Mr Ravenswood didn't know that his manor was built on the fondations of an Indian cimetery. He was married Martha Ravenswood. They had a daughter, named Alice.
Regretably, one day, the "thunder bird" was discovered, and there was an awful Earthquake, in which Henry Revenswood and his wife died, let Alice alone in the great family manor. The young girl was only fifteen when the tragedy happened, but she didn't want to leave her home. Servants stayed with her, and some people who had survived visited her everyday. So she lived in peace, although she was sad to have lost her parents.
Something strange happened in the night of Halloween, on October 31. That night, servants heard a long scream, and found their young mistress' body. Somebody thought it was a suicide, others said she was murdered... But nobody has never known how Alice Ravenswood died.
Never ?...
