Mary was having a bad day. She was late catching the train so she missed the 10:30 train meaning she had to take the 11:22 train which meant that she was late for work. Her boss chewed her out and docked her pay an hour. Mary groaned. She needed the money. Her rent was due tomorrow. That meant she would have to work overtime. By the time she got home she was exhausted. Her feet were hurting. She turned on the news. She gasped when she saw what was in the news. The 10:30 train had an accident and derailed. Everyone on the train had been killed. Mary cried in relief. She went into the room where her young son was sleeping and kissed him goodnight. She couldn't believe she was so upset about missing the train this morning and now she couldn't have been happier to have missed it.
