Prologue
It was a freezing cold night and the sky was full of stars. A small girl was standing in a field covered in snow and surrounded by trees. The cold wind blew through the girl's long, brown hair, giving her shivers. She had hated the cold, snowy season. Hated the way it made you shiver. Hated the way it made your breath look like a puff of smoke. Hell, she even hated the way it looked. But, the girl had found a way to suppress her hatred for it.
She raised her right hand and thought about her hatred for the cold. It brought heat to that hand. Then, her hand erupted in flames. It was pleasant. Her flames were the only thing left in the world that brought her happiness. She closed her eyes and felt the warmth of her flames all throughout her body. She just stood there. Then, there was a rustle in some trees behind her. She opened her eyes and her flames disappeared. She turned, and noticed her father behind her.
"What are you doing out here?" he asked.
"Nothing, just embracing the cold." she responded, lying through her teeth.
"No you're not. I saw that, that thing you did with the fire. You're a disgrace to our family and I don't see how you even think you were allowed to use that revolting fire of yours." he looked at her. His face twisted into an ugly scowl. She didn't respond, knowing what would happen next. Her father took her by the arm and looked her in the eyes.
"I hope you know, you are in big trouble. You are an ice wizard and an ice wizard you will be."
"I'll never be a true ice wizard and I think you know that." She responded blankly. He slapped her.
"Don't talk to me like that ever again!" he screeched. "You'll have to have another beating for the bad things you've done today." his hand was still on her wrist, bruising didn't notice. She was practically immune to pain after all her parents had done to her. When they first found out she was a fire wizard. Then, her father teleported them away.
