A Midnight Kiss
"Come on Maria, you never refuse a night out!" Mickie James said while trying to pull up her friend.
"It's just the new year, nothing big," Maria sighed.
"You came last year," Candice remembered.
"That's because you threatened me!" Maria folded her arms, not moving from the spot.
Before she knew it, Maria was being carried by her two friends over to the pub for a New Year's Eve Party.

Maria sat on the stool with the same drink she'd had for over an hour. She watched her friends having fun while 2008 turned into 2009.
"Still not enjoying yourself are you?" Candice asked her best friend.
"How can I? I've got nobody to be with to celebrate a new year, a new start! But I cant celebrate it, because I'm going to be alone next year!" Maria moaned.
"Well, Mickie and I know somebody who likes you," Candice teased, thinking it would make her friend feel better.
"Don't be silly Candi, well, I've enjoyed 2008 while it lasted, I had a boyfriend, lost him, had another boyfriend, never cared for him…Oh look, 15 minutes left of this year!" Maria shouted angrily.

"14 minutes!" Matt squealed girlishly.
"Honestly, sometimes I feel like I'm the oldest," Jeff sighed.
"What's wrong if a man gets excited every once in a while?" Matt asked.
"While you are getting excited and all of that, I'll be sitting in the corner with nobody, for the 5th year in a row," Jeff whined while taking a sip of his lemonade.
Matt scanned the room and walked over to Candice.
"I'm worried about Maria, she hasn't got anyone," Candice said with her arms wrapped around Matt's waist.
"Jeff's feeling the same, I know what he's thinking. He just wants to be with her, he's liked her since they met," Matt said.
"Maria feels the same way, I read her diary, she wont stop talking about him!" Candice smiled. Candice gasped. "I know what to do! Mickie get over here!" Candice called to her friend.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?!" Candice asked.
"We pummel Jeff and Maria with strawberry cream pies until they have no choice but to kiss?" Mickie said with a sly grin on her face.
"No, no," Candice whispered in Mickie's ear what the real plan was.
"But it's 11:57!" Mickie said.
"Just try! We're doing it for her!" Candice ordered. Mickie grunted and walked to the DJ.
"Can you cut the music for a second please?" she asked. The DJ ignored her.
"Hey! I've got a friend and I need to do something for her…" Still being ignored. "HEY!" Mickie screamed. The DJ stopped and looked at her.
"Can you cut the music, and can I have the microphone?" Mickie asked sweetly. The DJ nodded and ran away.
"OK, so what do I do with all this?" Mickie said to herself. She wasn't a technical person. "I'll just speak through the mic," Mickie looked up at the clock.

"Can everyone turn their attention to me please? Thank you, it's 11:59 now with 50 seconds left!" The crowd - mostly full of WWE superstars and diva's - cheered.
"Maria Kanellis, Jeff Hardy, I know you two have been waiting for what is about to happen for a long time! Get to the centre of the dance floor you two!"
Both as confused as each other, Maria and Jeff walked to the centre of the floor. The spotlight shone on them as bright as the sun.
"You know what to do when it reaches twelve! 12 seconds left! 11!"
"10!"
"9!"
"8!"
"7!"
"6!"
"5!"
"4!"
"3!"
"2!"
"1!"
The clock struck twelve. Jeff looked into Maria's twinkling eyes.
"Ever since we met, I've thought of you more than a friend," Maria said, tracing a hand through his hair.
"Me too," Jeff whispered softly.
The two realised that they had find the right person and gave each other a long, passionate kiss as fireworks erupted around them.
Candice, Matt and Mickie cheered along with everyone else. Not because is was 2009, but because 2 of their best friends found what they were looking for:
