A beautiful woman so all alone

Somehow conquered a heart of stone

Not through force

But a loving shown

~8~

A man, a beast! As legends told

With eyes of night and skin of gold

Took a girl from noble course

To be his slave, she was sold

~8~

She did not fear nor did she cry

Plot revenge or scheme to fly

Instead she smiled

And months went by

~8~

How her laughter warmed the light!

How she soothed his eternal night!

How she beguiled!

All of her a delight!

~8~

Entranced with her through all the days

His heart a rock, her love as waves

Eroded the cold

As warmth that saves

~8~

Every hour with her his heart grew dearer

With every word bandied his path was clearer

He could not hold

He had to free her

~8~

Soul torn, he freed his slave

Giving back all she had gave

Her eyes grew afire

But his heart in the grave

~8~

Oh but what gladness reared

When he so peered

From his spire

To his castle she neared!

~8~

In his heart bloomed such bliss

A joy in his soul he could not miss

With love demanding

They joined in a kiss

~8~

A bitterness laced upon his tongue

From one so beautiful and so young

A weakness standing

So the darkness sung

~8~

Frightened of all he would lose

'Twixt magic and love he did choose

Fear and Power

Those he could use

~8~

Emotions roiled in that desperate fray

Battling to keep all feeling at bay

And in that hour

He sent her away

~8~

And as she left with head held high

He knew inside what it was to die

And knowing he loved her still

Let forth a bestial cry

~8~

He watched her walk into the east

Entertained hopes and joys had ceased

No power could the hole in him fill

With the beauty gone from the beast

~8~8~

A/N: Yeah so I don't know how this happened. I don't usually write poetry often and I don't know meters so if it sucks I understand. Also, couldn't find a way to font this right. Derp... :(
