Luke and April have just gotten back from picking up thier chinese food and tells are just setting it up and sitting down to eat in the diner.
''so kido how's school?'' he asks her
''it's fine.'' she tells him without looking at him
''oh yea so are you interested in any boy's any boyfriends on the horizon?'' he asks her
''ew and no dad I'm only 12.'' she tells him
''yea I know that but your going to be 13 soon right that's just the beginning of being a teenager and your a girl isin't that what teenage girls suppossed to do date?'' he asks her
''ew ew ew.'' she says and cover's her ear's
''ew no dad just stop.'' she tells him
''ok calm down.'' he tells her
They continue eating thier food when Lorelai burst's through the door.
''Rory's back.'' Lorelai says in a happy and joyful tone.
''What?'' Luke asks her
''She's back. She's back at home, she's back at school, she got a job, and she did it all on her own. (Lorelai goes behind the counter and starts putting some donuts in a take-out container) She's at Lane's picking up her things, and then we're going to pull a major all-nighter. We need burgers, fries, onions rings, and anything else you can think of. Oh! I'm going to go next door and pick up some ice cream at Taylor's. (Lorelai walks out from behind the counter and up to Luke) She's back. (she kisses him) We can set the date. We can get married now because Rory's back.'' she says happily (Lorelai goes over to the diner door.)
''so what's going on here?'' she asks him
''oh we are just having a daddy daughter date night with chinese food.'' Luke tells her
''oh sound's fun ok I should get home Don't skimp on the fries. We don't want to lose her again.'' she tells him (she exits and Luke is left alone and looking miserable then goes back over to the table to eat with April.)
''sorry about that kido.'' he tells her and sip's at his drink.
''it's fine no problem.'' April tells him and smiles at him and sticks enough piece of chinese food in her mouth.
Luke looks up again and just watches her.
