The Story Of War Craft

The story of War Craft began with the awakening of the Night Elves. They were the first to study magic and unleash it upon the world. This was nearly ten-thousand years before the war between orcs and humans took place.

The night elves' reckless use of magic drew the Burning Legion into the world and a catastrophic war ensued between the two titanic races. However, in the process, the Night Elves wondrous homeland was shattered and drowned by the sea. Ever since, the Night Elves refused to use magic for fear that the dreaded Legion would return. They closed themselves off from the rest of the world and remained hidden atop their holy mountain of Hyjal for many thousands of years.

Ten thousand years passed after the war between the Night Elves and the Burning Legion. It was then that the orcs made their entrance to this world through the dark portal and started attacking the humans of Azeroth. This ongoing conflict escalated at a blistering speed into the War of Orcs and Humans.

Though it seemed the orcs had come through the dark portal of their own, they were merely pawns. They were being used by the Burning Legion, who had been plotting all along to control the world. But feared the Night Elves due to what they had done before. So they unleashed the orcs through the dark portal, forcing them to leave their home world of Draenor.

Though somewhat victorious, the humans were forced to flee across the Great Sea. With them they brought stories of war and what they had endured at the hands of the evil, orcish hordes. The orcs pursued the refugee humans across the Great Sea to Lordaron and brought The Tides of Darkness with them. Yet, they were not lucky this time, for the humans had wisely formed an alliance with the elves and dwarves of the west lands. In the battles that ensued, the orcs fell to the power of the Alliance.

Though the humans endured the Tides of darkness, much damage was already done. The plan of the Burning Legion was to weaken the world through the meddling of the orcs. Now they were free to set the rest of their plot into motion for they sent out the Undead Scourge. Thousands of walking corpses, disembodied spirits, damned mortal men, and insidious extra-dimensional entities spread across the land in a wave of pestilence. Once they had come, the Scourge broke away from the Legion as much they could, trying to escape damnation. The legion also came themselves, hurtling down from the sky walking, flaming meteors. The humans and orcs were the first to encounter the monsters. Upon the return of the Burning Legion, the Night Elves felt it was upon them to banish the demonic entities once again for drawing them here first.

Now 15 years after the war between orcs and humans the races of this world are on the brink of destruction... For the Reign of Chaos has come at last!
