The cleome hassleriana, commonly known as the spider flower, is a species of flowering plant. It is known for its long seedpods that develop below the flowers to give it a spidery appearance.

It means, "Elope with me."

Hermione was known to be a very sensible young witch. Though she was sorted into Gryffindor, she was probably better suited to be a Ravenclaw, what with her superior intelligence and bookworm attitude.

Ron knew better though. He knew that she truly belonged with him in Gryffindor, even if she was probably smarter that all the Ravenclaws combined.

She was brave enough to break an unspoken rule for Ron. With Ron. Doing something like what they had done would definitely require Gryffindor courage.

Hermione had eloped with Ron. They had left everything behind, gone to somewhere far far away, where they would be left in peace to live the life they wanted to live.

Ron ran away because he couldn't stand living in the glowing shadow of Harry and Ginny anymore.

Ron wondered why she did it though. There were so many bigger and better boys after her-his favorite Viktor Krum being one of them. Why had she fallen for the average Ronald Weasly? He was freckly, red haired, and not nearly smart enough to match up to her intelligence level.

He asked her all the time, and she answered the same way every time without fail. "Because I love you, Ron."

Then he would ask her why she loved him, why she risked everything to be with him. And she would say, "I don't really know, but I do." (That was usually when the kissing started.)

Hermione ran because she couldn't let Ron go without her.

They both ran for each other.

They found themselves along the way.

And in a little chapel in the middle of nowhere, they became the same; a single unit emitting love and purity and innocence.

They lead and lived a youthful, wonderful life. They had children-Rose and Hugo, two wonderful angels that lit up their lives in different hues every single day.

It could have been different. It could have worked back there. We could have stayed.

Everyday they think of the could haves, before focusing on the wills.

We will make it work.

One day Hugo found a special flower growing outside. It was pink and spindly, with spiky yellow and maroon needles poking out of it.

"A spider flower," Hermione said, gingerly putting it in a vase.

Later on, Ron asked her why she had teared up a little while looking at it.

She told him the meaning.

"Elope with me."

"It's our flower."

Who they were, and all that they stood for was told in that single blossom. It represented them from the beginning to the end-closed off and thorny, then gradually warming up to the sun, before opening out into a full and unique bloom that could only be theirs.

And eventually the flower would die, its petals falling off one by one.

But they would live on forever together, intertwined like the needles of a spider flower.
