Energy

Then she was full of life and energy. She could keep going for hours without any rest. And he struggled to keep up with her.

Now she struggles through the days. Slowly she's drained of life and energy. And he's left trying to pick up the pieces of their broken lives.

Simplicity

Then their lives were simple. No demanding schedules, exhausting missions, no responsibilities.

Now their lives are too complicated. Always full of chaos, death, and assignments that leave them fatigued.

Innocence

Then she hated being perceived as innocent, she thought it a synonym for naïve. He like that despite it she was still a little innocent.

Now they know that innocence fades all too quickly in their world. She can't remember the last time someone thought her innocent. And he remembers all too well when she lost her last ounce of innocence.

Family

The she was always annoyed by her family. Of Narcissa's perfect family, and of Andromeda's tainted family. He was jealous of what they had.

Now she's jealous of what they have that she lacks. And he's left trying to make up for the gaping hole in their lives.

Breaks

Then breaks were often. And they often left her bored, looking for something to do. He enjoyed them; he looked forward to moments alone with her.

Now she covets them, moments during which she can relax, moments to lay with him alone, separate from the world. And he hates them. Long or short they leave him wishing they would end. Moments of calm seem impossible for them, and leave him anxiously waiting for them to be interrupted. Times of calm are too good to be true with a war going on.

Dreams and Hopes

Then they were young and foolish, full of hope. Dreaming of the euphoric moments they would experience. Dreaming of changing the world, making it their own.

Now they know there's no such thing as happily ever after, no matter how much you wish there was. They know better than to hope and dream, because they'll never come true. They know not to dream the impossible.

Meh. I'm not sure how I feel about this. It just sort of popped in my head a while ago and I wrote down on a piece of paper, but I never got around to typing it up until today. Totally random, but whatever. Also don't know why I don't actually mention their names, by the time I realized it I was done, so meh(I love this word, it's all my sisters fault).
