A/N: Originally a ficlet imagine from a prompt I was asked to do on Tumblr, and it had reader inclusion in it instead of JJ. Here's the Jalex version of this quirky story!
"Do you see the suffering I have to go through everyday? Especially now when Blake is here with her linguistic knowledge."
Uhm, excuse me? she wants to say back.
It's meant to be a joke, she knows. The exaggerated expression and sarcastic tone numbs the offense and rudeness of the statement towards the younger doctor and the older linguist in question, but she scoffs at the dark-skinned man in vexation.
Jennifer Jareau is not going to take any bullshit from him today. Not after that bet.
"Fuck off, Morgan," the words push their way out of her mouth before her mind could even register, "smart people are my kink."
Reid isn't bothered by the remark—he laughs, actually—but the words snatch up Blake's attention from a novel she'd been avidly reading since JJ first stepped into the bullpen this morning.
Well, fuck.
"It seems the lovely Jennifer has preferred the mind over matter," she says without hesitation. "I knew there was a reason I was intrigued by you."
Morgan gives a look. JJ snickers.
"Well, I'm quite worth being interested in."
Blake chuckles, sets her book down on her crossed legs, and smirks. "Come to my place tonight, then. I can satisfy your preferences even better at home."
A snort elicits from Rossi, who sat across from her peacefully (he is sooo exhausted), Hotch remains unbothered (but really, is he ever unbothered?), and poor Reid is confused once more of the jaw-dropped look on Morgan's face.
"I did not just set up a one-night stand between you two."
Now, Reid understands, and his mind goes haywire. JJ swears she heard machinery breaking down in his brain.
"Take it how you like then, you sex-crazed fiend," responds the linguist, which the name-calling prompts the blonde to stifle a laughter and failing at that.
But when the chestnut-haired woman darts her eyes at her fellow FBI buddy lecherously, the latter knows already that he's right.
Then again, Morgan doesn't need to know that, does he?
