It wasn't that Tachimukai didn't understand why they did it like this. Both him and Tsunami were busy men, they couldn't just throw away their responsibilities to spend time together, no matter how great the idea seemed. It's just that sometimes he hated their situation.

They had gone through worse times, definitely. In their school years they dealt with an unstable long-distance relationship that tested their feelings quite a bit. Somehow they got through it, only to be shoved into the stressful college atmosphere, where it was certainly easier for them to see eachother, despite the fact that all that they would do together is take naps in each other's arms.

Now both adults, their work forced them to conform to a sort of schedule. They would meet every Saturday as long as nothing interrupted them, and spend the day together. Sometimes they would go on a date, but usually they enjoyed sitting around together in Tachimukai's apartment, acting lazy and fooling around. Sometimes it's what got him through the week, looking forward to the closeness of their skin as they cuddled under a blanket and watched a movie, or the tickle of Tsunami's slight stubble against his face as he stole a kiss.

It was always the end of the day that was the hardest. Tsunami never stayed the night, his business hours included Sundays. Around nine or ten he would slip on his jacket, kissing Tachimukai on the forehead and telling him he would see him soon. He always looked so sad when he pulled away, waving goodbye and leaving the brunette alone in his quiet home.

This time was different for some reason. As Tsunami slipped out of Tachimukai's arms and into his jacket, he suddenly felt completely overwhelmed by lonliness. He didn't want Tsunami to leave, not this time. Before he had time to think rationally, he selfishly grabbed Tsunami's arm. The older man turned to look at him.

"What's up, Yuuki?" He asked, blinking in confusion. Tachimukai stared back, his grip tightening by a small fraction.

"Stay with me," he whispered breathlessly, caught up in a sudden feeling of helplessness brought on by watching the man he loved turn to leave him alone.

Tsunami watched him in surprise, but a soft smile reached his face after a moment. He turned his body to face the smaller man again. For a moment, they were those silly, care-free kids again, fighting to be the best in the world together. They were hugging and laughing and crying, jumping for joy as they won the championship. They were kissing for the first time, stupid and happy and embarrassed.

But that was only for a moment.

Tsunami leaned down and pressed his lips to Tachimukai's, putting his free hand on the back of his head and bringing him as close as possible. Their noses bumped for a moment as Tachimukai relaxed and returned the kiss, his own free arm wrapping around Tsunami's neck. They stayed like that for a moment before Tsunami pulled away, pressing their foreheads together.

"Yuuki, you know I can't." He whispered, running his hand through the short brown hair. He wanted to stay just as much as Tachimukai wanted him to...but he had to open up his shop in the morning. Tachimukai sighed, letting go of Tsunami and pulling away with a small smile.

"I know, Jousuke. I'll see you next week, okay?" He replied with a lack of enthusiasm. Tsunami nodded and ruffled his hair.

"This is only temporary." He promised, turning back to the door and opening it before looking back once more. "Goodnight, Yuuki."

"Goodnight." Tachimukai smiled as the door closed.

Yes, Tachimukai completely understood why they did it this way. But sometimes he really, really hated it.
