A Little Night Fright
A one shot by Thatretrogamer
It was late, too some this time would be considered morning time, but most would be asleep at this hour. Banjo lay asleep in his bed, tossing and turning. As Kazooie rested in a more peaceful manner. "No… stop, don't hurt her…," Banjo muttered in his rest. As time went on, he started twisting more violently. "No… no… stop… no…"
He may have been having a nightmare, or maybe something was bothering him, perhaps he was stressed. But the way he jolted out of his sleep said it all. "GAHH!" He spurred out, loudly enough to awaken Kazooie. She poked her head out of the little backpack she stayed in. Twilight was among them. "Geez, could you be any louder?" She whispered. "You scared me, what's wrong?" Banjo settled down a little, the sound of Kazooie's voice was soothing, yet stern at the same time. "It's nothing Kazooie, just had a nightmare" he whispered back. Trying to stay calm enough to fall back asleep afterwards.
Kazooie's eyes were reflecting any light that was in the house, because they were the only things he could see through the veil of darkness. "Ahh, I thought someone was in the house," Kazooie sighed with relief. "Do you want to talk about it or are you just going back to sleep?" Banjos eyes had adjusted to the dark, he could see her slightly tilted head looking at him. "Nah, I think I'll manage till morning," Banjo said with a grin. "Whatever you say, now go back to sleep, your little sister's coming over to visit tomorrow" that's what he was worried about, he just had this gut feeling something bad was going to happen, but he didn't know what though. "Kazooie…" the bird came out of the backpack again. "What now?" "What do you think of the house?" Kazooie groaned, slightly annoyed he couldn't ask this in the morning when they were unpacking. "I dunno, it's weird how there's random pictures of moles on the walls, and the house was kinda cheap, plus I don't have a bed to sleep I yet , but it's a nice place..." and she prepared to say the sappiest thing she possibly could. "...But as long as I'm with you, I'm happy, now go to sleep!"
Banjo lied back in his bed and took a breath. He had a nice house, he had Kazooie, and he had his little sister, he didn't need anything more in his life. He began to think 'what could possibly go wrong?'
I'm sorry I've been gone for so long, but I have a life too live, and responsibilities got kinda in the way, and I had writers block, but now I'm back, and I hope I never get that horrible writers block ever again
Hope you enjoyed this little one shot, thought it was a good idea, turned out to be a good idea, now I'm happy.
