The Tweedles did everything together there was hardly a second when they were apart. They had matching class schedules. Then came the day that changed everything. "Evan I don't feel like I can be my own person and I know someday we are going to have to go our own ways." Ethan said. Evan watched as Ethan hung out with The Knave more while Evan spent most of his time alone.
The longer it went on the lonelier Evan finally felt after a month Logan and all of Windsor would come and check on Evan but he always said the same thing. "When you lose a part of you how do you move on when it's that piece that makes you whole?" No one could answer that question and it got to the point that over time people got used to it and ignored it but it always made Evan wonder if Ethan had ever wondered this. In Evan's dreams he always saw Ethan coming back but now as he lay in bed and looked at Ethan across the room instead of next to him he thought that never would happen. Ethan was always so calm but Evan lost that a long time ago. Evan lived day to day and sometimes he lived minute to minute. The hallways were silent and even Windsor had become quieter. What everyone couldn't see was that Ethan was hurt to but he was just better at hiding it and he wanted to run back to Evan after a week of separation but he didn't know how. He wanted to make Evan see how much he cared about him but he knew it had to be heartfelt and true.
During Warblers practice the following week Ethan stood up and said that he had planned something for someone special that he had missed a lot recently. The background music started playing and Evan already knew the song.
We don't even talk anymore
And we don't even know what we argue about
Don't even say "I love you" no more
Cause saying how we feel is no longer allowed
Some people will work things out and
Some just don't know how to change
Let's don't wait till the water runs dry
We might watch our whole lives pass us by
Let's don't wait till the water runs dry
And make the biggest mistake of our lives
Don't do it baby.
By the end of the song Evan was sobbing so hard that you could see the tear streaks streaming down his face but it took Ethan about five seconds to run over and grab Evan into a hug and never let go of him ever again. Ethan leaned over and whispered into Evan's ear saying "Next time I say anything about separation hit me."
