Author's Notes; I've never done this before … I don't really like Matt x Near, but it was worth a try.
This happens after Mello leaves Wammy's House!

He was always alone. Always.
Then again, I could understand why. Near was always such a distant person, of course anyone would be too intimidated to approach him.
But … he looks so lonely.
"Hey."
He looks up at me with those curious yet empty dark eyes; the most adorable look on earth. I blush. I don't know what made me approach him like this.
"Do you need anything, Matt?" He asks.
Near doesn't look the least bit fazed. While I, on the other hand, feel awkward. I've never spoken to Near directly before. I've only seen and heard of him from Mello.
Mello … It's only been a day seen you've left, but I already miss you.
"No, I was just wondering if you wanted some company." I decided to reply, truthful.
Near doesn't reply, he looks back at his puzzle, placing yet another piece with ease. I knew a reply wouldn't come. A smile dresses itself on my face and sit down beside him; taking out my PSP to play.
At least … keeping each other company can fill the void Mello's left in us.
