"Levy..." said girl brushed the voice aside, too deep in her book to truly register that someone was attempting to gain her attention. "Lev..." the voice tried again, only to huff in frustration when she turned a page, mumbling to herself. "Oi! Shrimp!" Gajeel growled, shaking her shoulder before he snatched her book away. He smirked to himself as her hazel eyes fixed him with a fierce (or as fierce as the cute bluenette could be anyway) glare, yeah that had done the trick alright. "Gajeel, I was reading that!" she whined angrily, her cheeks puffed out in frustration. Gajeel grinned let out his signature gihi, she was so cute when she was mad, though he kept that thought to himself. "Course ya were Shrimp, ya've been readin' that ever since we got home from the guild. And I've been tryin' ta get ya ta dinner for twenty minutes now. So either you haul yer gorgeous ass to the table or I'm gonna carry ya there." His grin turned rather feral at that and Levy know that he was completely serious, so with a sigh she got off the couch, determined to go to dinner on her own two feet. Gajeel laughed again and placed her book on the couch's arm rest before following her to the kitchen.

Lily was already in his seat, a few kiwis next to his plate, and was watching the couple with an amused expression on his face. Levy wondered just how long he had been sitting there as she flashed him a guilty smile and started to apologize for the wait. Lily waved off the apology, long used to Levy and how hard it was to draw her out of her books. Gajeel and Levy sat down at least and the three ate dinner in a comfortable silence that was broken only by the clinking of silverware on plates and Gajeel chewing on some of his iron pieces. As watched Gajeel, Levy idly wondered how long it had taken his teeth to strengthen up enough to bite through metal like it was bread. The sound of her fork hitting her plate roused her from her thoughts and her cheeks flushed in embarrassment just looking at the offending utensil as she realized that she'd been thinking hard enough for it to drop from her loose grip. Glancing back up she caught sight of Gajeel and Lily's curious gazes. "Ya ok Shrimp?" came Gajeel's gruff question, though his eyes did seem a tad more worried than normal. She nodded, still a bit embarrassed and replied "I'm fine. I just got caught up in my thoughts." Gajeel snorted and she could have sworn she heard him mutter "like that's any surprise" but she couldn't be quite sure. Levy puffed up her cheeks in annoyance, if she did something like that he'd be able to hear it thanks to his stupid dragon senses.

Dishes were soon cleared away and cleaned, leaving Levy free to resume her book, which is exactly what she was going to do. On her way to the bedroom she scooped it up off the couch and after a few more steps plopped down on the bed, the novel already open once more. Walking into the room Gajeel wasn't the least bit surprised to find her emerged once more, although it had only been a minute tops since she'd fled the kitchen. Grinning at the sight he changed into his sleep gear and laid down next to Levy, tugging her against him and wrapping his arm behind her in the process. Glancing up at the disturbance Levy smiled and began to read out loud. Gajeel didn't give a damn about the story, he just liked listening to his Shrimp talk and she knew it. Her voice carried on long after he'd finally fallen asleep and only came to a stop when he pulled her tighter against him and she finally placed the book down on the nightstand next to her side of the bed to go to sleep herself.
