- Silent Goodnight Kiss –
"Suzaku, can I sleep with you?" asked young Lelouch in the middle of night.
"I don't mind but, how about Nunnaly? You promised Nunnaly to sleep with her, right?" I asked.
"It doesn't matter. She has slept and she wouldn't know," replied Lelouch.
"So can I sleep with you?" Lelouch asked me once again. I smiled.
"It's alright. Come here," I replied.
After hearing my answer, he rustled on to my bed and slept beside me.
"... Lelouch, are you sure you want to leave tomorrow?" I asked anxiously.
"... Yeah. But, I'll make sure to send letters for you," he answered. For a moment, I silenced.
"Suzaku?" he called. I kept silence and replied nothing.
"... I'll miss you..." finally I whispered.
"Huh?"
"It's nothing. Just go to sleep, it's already late. You must wake up early, right?"
"... You're right," answered Lelouch. He smiled sadly then, he fell asleep very quickly.
I stroked his hair gently and stared at him. Softly, I kissed his forehead.
"Goodnight, Lelouch," I whispered. Seconds after, I slept beside him.
In the middle of the night, I woke up.
"Huh?" I sat on my bed and saw the person next to me wasn't Lelouch, but Gino.
For several moments I my brain couldn't process the situation but, when I heard Gino's sneeze, I came back to reality. I giggled and covered his shoulder with the blanket.
'He often makes me remember about Lelouch. I don't know if Gino resembles Lelouch very much,'
'Though Lelouch wouldn't make a fuss and force me to do something with his fake teary eyes...' I pitied myself while laughing alone.
I looked at Gino once again and I stroked his hair gently, like I stroked Lelouch's hair before.
I kissed Gino's forehead softly and whispered...
"Goodnight, Gino,"
