Vampire Day Care
(A/N:I do not own Bella/Renesmee or any other Twilight characters. Those are the property of
Stephenie Meyer. Ellie/Kaleigh are my property, as is this story.)
Ch.1 : Socialization is key.
So, after much research into day cares around Hanover, Edward and I decided on one. It was nearby our little house and Rosalie blessed it, saying that it was close enough to where she could pick up her niece if she felt so inclined. (Hopefully that won't happen too often.) I wasn't too happy with the idea of my baby being with strange mortal children and probably strange mortal adults all day while she could be with me.. but Edward said socialization is key at her age, even if it was much younger than what she seemed to be. She looked about five now, so maybe she was ready, whether she (Or I) liked it or not. Grudgingly, I agreed.
But sitting here with her in this daycare seemed a little odd. Renesmee wasn't sure that she'd like it here, but then a little brown haired girl ran up to her and playfully exclaimed, "My name's Kaleigh, what's yours?" as her almost identical mother came and scooped her up. "Now, Kaleigh, what did we tell you about scaring people with your outside voice?" "Sorry Mommy, but she looked bored so I wanted to play with her." Her mom smiled and shook her head before she turned to me. "Hi, I'm Ellie, and this little ragamuffin is my daughter Kaleigh. We're new in town and she desperately wants some friends to run around with. She thinks Mommy's too slow now that she's having another baby, huh darling?" Kaleigh smiled and nodded quietly. I smiled back at Ellie. She seemed nice, after all. I tried to breathe through my mouth, just a precaution. I let it slip a little and realized I could smell Kaleigh, but very faintly. And from Ellie's direction I couldn't smell anything at all. Strange.
Kaleigh and Renesmee seemed to be getting along now that Ellie put her back down to play, so I tried to ignore it. I just hoped Renesmee would know how to behave with a human child.
Ellie looked down at Renesmee and asked, "So is she your only child?" "Yes, and unfortunately with the complications of the pregnancy I'm no longer able to have any more children. But Nessie is certainly a handful enough." (Complications of pregnancy? Like that wasn't the understatement of the year..) "That's too bad. I always wanted a big family. My husband and I could never agree. I wanted three, he wanted one, two if the first one was really quiet. But then we found out about this little guy here," as she rubbed her belly. She smiled a little as she looked at her unborn child, " Two seems fine to me now. We don't know what we're having yet. But Kaleigh wants a sister so badly." "Renesmee wants a sibling too, I can tell, she doesn't get to be around much children her age.
None of mine or my husband's family has children so she gets a little bit lonely every now and then I think." Ellie looked down a moment and I noticed Kaleigh was tugging at her shirt a little. "Mommy, Nessie asked if I could have a sleepover with her tonight with her Mommy and Daddy..Can I? Can I, pwease Mommy?" Ellie sighed and looked at me, "Is that alright with you, Mommy?" She grinned and I bit my lip, hoping there was some way out of this.
