To My Love,
My hope had been crushed. The death of the one you love will do that. Suddenly the sun doesn't shine the same and the clouds seem darker. Suddenly, there is no life. But he brought it back to me. All I had to do was rear end him with my car. After the death of my fiancé, Percy saved me.
In the midst of feeling sorry for myself, I was driving and sobbing my eyes out, and I hit him. I got out of my car, my whole face red and tears still running down my cheeks. I didn't even know his name, but he pulled me into his arms and held me close. He told me everything would be ok. That the world would keep turning and the sun would keep rising. He understood what I was going through. While on a business trip, there was a fire in his house. It killed his wife and two kids. He understood me and we didn't even know one another's names.
After everything, I found myself falling in love with him. We began to spend more and more time together. He stole my heart and I stole his. The world no longer existed when he was with me. I'd never felt this way about anyone. He was my savior angel.
Two years later, he took me to the park on a sunny April day. As we walked, it began to rain and I started to run to the car to escape the downpour, but Percy caught my hand and I was shocked as he got down on one knee.
"Annabeth," he said to me. "You are the most amazing woman I have ever met. Nothing can compare to your beauty and your kindness. You opened my heart when I thought it had closed forever and that has brought us to this moment as we stand in the rain." I watched as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a ring box. He opened it to reveal a simply gold ring with a diamond shaped like a flower and my eyes flooded with tears. "Marry me?"
All I could do was nod and hug him tightly.
Our wedding is upon us, my dear Luke. I am sorry to say now I must let you go so I may move on with my life. Perhaps we will meet on the other side though. Perhaps we can be close again. But until that day, I must say goodbye.
