The War in Terra's Heart

'We can fight for eternity, but still you won't defeat me.'

'Eternity is too long a time for even you to see, Master Xehanort.'

'Is that so, my young apprentice?'

'I am no apprentice of yours!'

'No, I suppose you aren't. Ventus was, however. Albeit a rather poor one –'

'Don't talk about Ventus!'

'Tut, tut. You lose your temper so quickly.'

'I know. It is that failing and my desire to be the strongest that has brought me here. But still…I hold one more thing over you, and I won't lose it.'

'A tiny sliver of your will, you mean? Do you honestly think it makes a difference?'

'It does, because you underestimate it, Master Xehanort. The strength of the heart. The bonds between friends. You threw away your heart.'

'I think it is you who underestimates the power of this heart, young Terra. I have spent more years than you've been alive for in studying it.'

'No, you have not. You simply expanded on the hard work of another man, once you betrayed him.'

'…'

'Yes, I know about it. Your heart tells me your memories as well, and I can see them. I can see your weaknesses. I can see a way out.'

'You have played into my hands up till now, Terra. You and your friends. I have overlooked nothing – and this feeble struggle of yours will one day come to an end as well.'

'It will…but I swear on my friends that I will be the victor.'

'You will not – but I look forward to your continued struggle. In the meantime, settle back and watch me take the reigns of your body once more, and greet our…visitor.'

'Aqua! No…'

'See, you are powerless against me. Goodbye Terra. Until the next time this new body of mine is idle.'
