How The Porcupine or Hedgehog got its Spines
A long time ago, porcupines had no spines. Instead, they had this really gluey body. Now one particular afternoon, a porcupine was walking around a few durian trees. Suddenly, a durian fell. Some big elephant came and used a rock to crack it open. Then it ate the inside of the durian and left the shell there.( Yes, yes. A long time ago, elephants did eat durians.) A few minutes later, the porcupine waddled by. Feeling tired it looked around the place for a nice cool spot to sleep, away from the sun. Then it spotted the durian shell. It crawled inside and fell asleep. Some hours later when the porcupine woke up, it realized that the shell of the durian had stuck to its back. And that's how the porcupine got its spines.
