I don't know why I had to do this, but I did. It seems stupid, I know, but
a diary. it at least will let me get out those thoughts that I can't speak
to others with out worry or ridicule. Some of this I could probably tell to
Ron. Some of this I could probably tell to Sirius, but. it doesn't really
seem fitting for either. These are my thoughts, they should stay as such,
but I need to express them.
The sixteen year old girl. She was every boys greatest desire. She was every boys greatest foil.
Cho Chang fits this category. Her petite features, which always seemed to form a smile no matter who she was speaking to, were particularly stunning. She was smart, pretty, and popular. Every boy's dream. Including a young Gryffindor, this young Gryffindor. She's like a snitch. Perfect in every aspect, but seemingly unattainable to the uninitiated. I see her there and I think I might have a chance, that she might, on some whim or because I might just have earned it, favor me. It's like a snitch when you spot it for the first time, hovering austerely above the Quidditch field. It floats there, the sun twinkling off of its polished exterior, but then as soon as you make a move, even the slightest, it takes flight. It speeds faster and faster the harder you try.
This snitch is, however, an impossible bounty. Maybe that is part of the allure. Sirius once told me the unattainable is always the most attractive. He said it protected us from getting hurt because we chasing something we knew in a hearts we would never get so the rejection was just part of the game. With the attainable, the rejection is adding insult to injury, something everyone tries to avoid.
What is it with popular girls. What makes them so alluring. But a better question should be why do they always go for older boys? Digory was an excellent person. I understand why she would choose him. What I don't understand is why she always goes for seventh years. So there older? What is so great about that? Hermione too goes for older boys. She says it has to do with their maturity level. Come on. Victor, while nice, is no more mature than the rest of us. Krum has a jealous streak that runs deep, but it certainly isn't silent.
Cho's latest boyfriend (I hate associating that word with her if my name isn't what the noun means. It's irrational I know, but some how. it just drives me crazy to think.) is a very handsome seventh year. He is a Ravenclaw. Other than his looks I don't see what he has that I don't. I mean, come on! the Ravenclaws are not the only ones with brains. So if its intellect she likes, its not the only reason she is dating him. Maybe it's his personality? Or lack there of. The guy maybe smart, but he is not a conversationalist. Although, that time I asked her to the Yule Ball I wasn't really a conversationalist either, but that is between the diary and me. But Cho's type is not necessarily the shy type. Digory wasn't shy.
I just don't get it. Why am I not destined to be her type?
The snitch.always going to the seeker with a faster broom. But the chase. it will always be sweet. They are mysterious creatures, these things we call sixteen year old girls. They are as gorgeous as any veela and they make us do the stupidest things.just like any veela. It's almost humorous.that is if I didn't still need the chase.
I must tell you though, in this game of Quidditch I am tired of the bludgers always getting in my path. It couldn't be easy? Maybe it shouldn't. Maybe if it were it wouldn't be worth it.But it would be a lot less painful.
