I made this for Christmas. Please ignore the cheesiness. I like cheesiness I'll have you know.
Yuma sat in front of the window, trying to peer past the fog clouded glass to the outside world. No success. Wiping away some fog, he caught a glimpse of people frolicking outside before more fog grew back. Sighing, he stood up, brushing himself off.
Going to his closet, he put on his coat and shoes. Running downstairs he was just about to leave when a voice stopped him. "And where do you think you're going?"
Yuma turned back. "Aw, c'mon Grandma. I want to go outside."
His Gradma crossed her arms. "You'll get a cold."
Yuma walked up and kissed her on the cheek. "I promise I'll come in as soon as I start feeling sick."
She nodded. "Good. Go on then."
Yuma smiled and left, closing the door. Snow fell lightly, covering the ground with a fluffy blanket of cold. He stuck out his tongue, cold flakes landing. Reaching down, he scooped up some snow. It stuck together. Yuma grinned. "Perfect."
He started rolling some snow into a giant ball. As he was packing the snow, someone asked him what he was doing. Turning around, he saw that Astral had come out of hiding, as he often liked to disappear into the key pendant Yuma wore. "I'm building something."
Astral glanced wide eyed at the snow pile Yuma had started. "Oh?" He said, voice curious. "What are you planning to build?"
Yuma spread his arms. "An igloo!"
Astral blinked. "An...Ig a lu?"
Yuma laughed. "No! An igloo! It's like a little snow hut. Made of ice. Since there's no ice here I'll just build it from snow. It's fine though." He hurriedly added, seeing a question rise in Astral's expression.
"The snow is sticky. It'll work."
Yuma turned around and went back to scooping up more snow to add to the pile. He saw a lump of snow fall on the pile, and glanced at Astral who was standing beside him. "I'll help." He offered.
Smiling, Yuma nodded and together they took turns adding more and more snow. Yuma motioned to Astral to stop. "Alright. Now we hollow it out."
Getting on his knees Yuma dug furiously at the front of the snow pile. Astral watched, intrigued. Yuma dug until he sat inside the snow pile, red faced and proud. He patted the walls until they were smooth.
Yuma nodded. "Not the best igloo but it's good. It's good."
Astral peeked in. "What now?"
Yuma shrugged.
"Nothing I guess. Let's go back inside. Thanks for helping me."
Astral smiled. "No problem. I found it enjoyable too." Together, they went back inside, proud of their little snow hut.
The End.
