Written for Fanfic Dominoes Game (Challenge). (I know a lot of people write and see Blaise as this dark, quiet character, but personally I see him as a terrible flirt. This fic represents that.)
Severus rolled his eyes as he looked at the student in the front row, who was currently biting his quill and smiling in a rather seductive manner. Blaise Zabini was, if Severus had heard the rumors correctly, the new Sirius Black. Everyone loved him and he . . . loved everyone, to put in lightly.
And apparently, like Black, he went through all the students he wanted to, and was turning his gaze toward the teachers. Part of Severus was slightly flattered that the boy had decided that he was going to be the first, part of him was annoyed at the boy for distracting him with his attempts to flirt.
Severus had promised himself that he would never do anything with a student when he first joined the school at twenty-one and there was an incredibly gorgeous seventh year that was almost eighteen. Zabini had just turned sixteen and Severus was now 36. Add to the fact that Zabini was a boy, not a woman, and Severus found it ridiculously easy to ignore him.
Zabini was not accepting that fact however, and was doing everything possible to flirt with him. It would bother Severus, if it weren't for the fact that it weren't so pathetically amusing. Clearly, he was not the only one who thought that. Everyone in the class was laughing at his attempts and though Severus knew he should do something, he couldn't. This was the bright spot in all his classes.
Severus felt that was pretty sad, but he tried not to care.
Finally, Severus ended his class, and Blaise got up, disappointed yet again that he had not managed to seduce his teacher.
Severus, seeing his morose look, smirked. "Zabini, one day you will understand and you'll be terribly embarrassed when you do."
In the blink of an eye, the look was gone and it was replaced with a blinding smile. "Will we be laughing together?"
Severus looked at him oddly. "I . . . suppose?"
"Good," Zabini said, and then left.
Severus wondered what had just happened.
