Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Bones – A Bones FanFic.
Seeley Booth's clunky footsteps echoed through the hollow halls of the Jeffersonian's Medico-Legal lab. A soft, merry tune was floating around, coming from the direction of Dr. Temperance Brennan's office. A light, tinkly, female voice sung along cheerfully. It couldn't be, could it?
Have yourself a merry little Christmas,Let your heart be light
From now on,
our troubles will be out of sight
Have yourself a
merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay,
From now
on,
our troubles will be miles away.
Here we are as in
olden days,
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are
dear to us
Gather near to us once more.
Through the
years
We all will be together,
If the Fates allow
Seeley Booth was gobsmacked. For the thing he thought he would never see in a million years was right before his very eyes. Temperance Brennan.
Temperance Brennan. Singing. Christmas. Carols. It's a Christmas miracle. He hated to interrupt.
"Bones?" He caught her attention.
She stopped mid-crescendo and whipped her head around.
"Booth!" She exclaimed, her cheeks flushing deep scarlet.
"Are you feeling okay?" He asked, worried. Perhaps she had a brain tumor or something. Temperance Brennan hated Christmas. Not that he could blame her, given her history with the holiday.
"Um.. I find the music to be very... stimulating," She explained, still blushing.
"Booth nodded, "Riiiiight," He trailed off, not believing her for a second.
Bones sat at her desk and avoided him, obviously still extremely embarrassed, from this event and their recent mistletoe kiss.
The sparks had flown and she was fighting all her urges not to pull him to her again and press her lips against his once more.
When she looked up again, Booth was leaning on her desk and watching her work. She glared up at him and he sat down across from her.
He simply sat there and smiled at her. The butterflies in her stomach stated having marathons as she pulled herself away from his enchanting gaze. All of a sudden, Booth got up and moved to the other side of the room. Looking as if he was about to leave, something on the floor caught his eye.
"Bones, come and look at this!" He told her. She sighed and got up, joining him where he was kneeling and staring intently at the floor.
"What is it, Booth?" She asked, also kneeling down.
Following his stare, she realized he was staring at... nothing.
She looked up at him, confused, only to be met with his adoring gaze once again.
Next thing she knew, Booth's tongue was tangled with hers and he held her by the waist, while her fingers combined at the nape of his neck. They pulled back minutes later, gasping for air.
"What was that for?" Temperance asked.
Booth pointed up. "Mistletoe," he whispered.
He took a step back from her and gave her his charm smile. "Merry Christmas, Bones," He whispered in her ear before leaving the Jeffersonian with a bounce in his step.
Temperance raised a hand to her lips and smiled. Yes, she thought, I will have a merry Christmas.
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough. And have yourself A merry little Christmas now.
