Beyond the Veil
Totally unaware of what was happening, he floated gracefully downwards. He couldn't recall anything that had happened to him. He was at complete unawares of who he was, what he was. He was just an existence, neither here nor there. The sensation was a peculiar one.
He was dimly aware of golden lights flitting towards him. Somewhere in the dull fog in his brain something was telling him to be cautious. Yet he remained calm as he watched the lights come closer and closer.
They were so close now they seared his eyes with their blinding light. He blinked, trying to glaze his eyes with tears; he was gathering speed now, the wind whistling shrilly in his ears.
He screamed.
Sharp talons attacked him savagely, gouging his eyes from their sockets. Blood spilled from his now-empty sockets and his vision disappeared.
He was totally aware of what was happening, he was plummeting clumsily downwards. He remembered everything: the sudden alarm as they were informed of Harry's disappearance to the Ministry of Magic. He could remember his name, remember what he was. The sensation was a painful one.
Sirius began to struggle against this massive force, trying to throw it off him. His punched out blindly, kicking and biting. Anything to try and get it off him. Yet his efforts were futile as the powerful force snatched at him, ripping deep rivers all over his body.
Sirius vomited, blood spilling from his dry cracked lips, dribbling over his chin. His body contorted into a violent spasm.
The force continued to hack at him. He screamed again as he felt a sharp excruciating pain seize his lower abdomen and rip up to his chest. He groaned as his sternum was sliced in two.
He felt like he was on fire as his internal organs were grabbed and squeezed by those vicious talons that had been ripping at him the whole duration of his tumble. He squeaked as he felt his organs leave his body. This was pain beyond all pain.
So much pain was he in that he didn't notice when his manhood was stolen from him.
He exhaled softly, one last time, and whispered softly: 'I'm so sorry Harry.'
His body finally hit a freezing cold surface.
He never rose again.
