A Sister's Love

I never knew how much Isadora kept from me. I thought that she was cold and kind of unfeeling. She never once cried after our parent's death. I guess that was wrong on my part. It wasn't until our 15th Birthday that I learned Isadora's secret.

"Were the heck is she" I shouted. I was furious at Isadora. She was over 30 minutes late for her own birthday party. "Calm down Duncan. I'm sure were ever she is she's JUST fine. Quigley said TRYING to calm me dawn. I HATED when tried to do that. Make everything seem ok when it wasn't. There was one place in the Hotel Denouement That Isadora would be. "I'll be right back" I whispered to Quigley." I raced to the elevator and franticly pressed the up button. I finally arrived on the 25th floor and ran down the corridor to room 279. This had been our mom's favorite room. I herd sobbing through the door. I turned the door knob. It was locked. I gently knocked on the door. "Isadora, Will you please open the door." I ask I herd Isadora's footsteps cross the carpeted floor. She slowly opened the door. I walked into the room and was shocked at what I saw. An empty wine bottle was lying on the bed. "Oh my God!" She gave me a small smile and quietly said "You've finally discovered my way of dealing with it." "Isadora why did you do this!" I ask stunned that this was my sister's way to get over the pain. "It always seemed to work for mom." Was her reply. "Isadora your NOT mom," I shouted "why…why did you hid this from me?" "Mom's last words to me were protect Duncan with everything you have. Duncan I was trying to protect you from knowing how much suffering I was going through." I sat down beside her on the bed and put a hand on her shoulder. "Isadora you have a group of friends that love you more than anything in the world and their all down stairs waiting for the birthday girl. And I want you to stop crying, perk up, and go down their I said. She smiled "Thanks Duncan." She said hugging me. We raced all the way back to the party (I won) everyone was there all the Baudelaire siblings the Denouement triplets and Quigley. We all had a great time and Isadora look truly and genuinely happy
