His Arkenstone

They say that the madness ran though the family. The overwhelming need for gold, riches, the most perfect of jewelry and gems. The very thirst for it was unbelievable and can't be fought. Especially for his grandfather Thror, the great king of the mountain. His greed for one of his many gems bestrode the down fall of his whole kingdom. That gem is called The Arkenstone.

They say it'll happen to him that he'll fall under the temptation that is gold and riches. That it's bound to happen sooner or later. It does run in the family, that madness.

To Thorin he already, but a different kind of jewel. His very own arkenstone.

He never understood why his grandfather was so devoted to his treasure. Why he loved and cared for them almost as much as he did his family and his people.

That is until he meet his very own arkenstone.

No it's not just anything gem or ruby or emerald or diamond. No it's something more beautiful, something more pure. No not a something, a someone. A burglar really.

Bilbo Baggins was his everything, the very air that he breathed. His ground that he walked on. His sun in his dark and cloudy word that was there since the fall of Erebor. His home. His very own arkenstone.

Thorin worshiped the ground that he walks on. He'll give him everything and anything that he wanted and still more. He'll shower him in jewels and silk. Do anything that he asks him to do. He was captivated his very presence and he knew that he couldn't fight it one bit. Bilbo is his sun and his whole world revolves around him.

And he wouldn't have it any other way.

Why? Because he loves him of course.

Besides the madness does run in the family and to Thorin Oakenshield, son of Thrain, son of Thror, Bilbo Baggins was his own personal madness.
