Aichi crept in.
He had entered through the window, gentle light wafting through the open window.
Kai was asleep, the moonlight highlighting his pale face, fierce emerald eyes hidden behind sealed lids.
Aichi walked up to the bed as quietly as he could, closing his own gentle azure eyes.
"Aichi sama, we are ready to seal you away." Gaillard bowed politely, his amber eyes twinkling with sadness.
Aichi nodded at him in understanding, turning around. The view of the beautiful Earth shone in front of him, miasmas of white covering patches of green and blue.
"There's still time."
Gaillard looked back up questiongly at his king, who turned back around, a silhouette tracing his black coat.
"I still have some time to see Kai kun.." Aichi murmured, his mournful blue eyes glittering.
Gaillard snorted in loathe and disgust. He hated the brunet, and had no idea why Aichi still loved him, after all he did. But he nodded in respect.
"Very well, Aichi sama."
Aichi did his best to walk quietly on the wooden floor, despite the small creaks, sliding up to Kai. Aichi slightly blushed as he sat on the bed. Now that he was this close, he could see Kai's handsome features more clearly, making him that more attractive.
"Kai kun.." He murmured gently, cupping his face. Kai's cheeks felt surprisingly soft in his hands, nothing like he imagined. He flushed again before continuing.
"I love you, Kai kun. I really do." Aichi had to take a deep breath before he continued. It was so painful to say this, especially to Kai. "And I'm sorry I couldn't keep my promise. But it's for the better, right?" Aichi forced a gentle smile on his face. Kai didn't respond, his chest moving up and down gently under the covers.
"I will always watch over you, Kai kun. Even if you forget about me... Even if you become that cold person I first met..." Aichi murmured, looking away from Kai. Tears were beginning to threaten his eyes, but he didn't want to cry in front of Kai, even if he was asleep.
A gentle breeze floated in the room, reminding Aichi that he had left the window open, but he didn't care. He let the wind brush past his hair, the cold breeze making Aichi slightly shiver.
He was suddenly reminded that he had to get back to the sanctuary sooner or later, trying to get up when he felt a small tug on his arm. He looked back at Kai, confused.
Kai was cupping Aichi's warm hand with his larger, cold hands, refusing to let him go. Aichi widened his eyes as a tear got past his defenses, dripping down his face and plopping gently on their hands. Kai didn't want him to leave, just as he predicted. Biting his lip, Aichi forcefully pulled his hand away, a visible frown now on Kai's peaceful face.
It hurt.
With one last painful glance he ran back up to the window and jumped out, tears streaming down his face, unable to make himself wipe them away.
I'm sorry Kai kun..
Goodbye.
