The Truth

"What is this place?" said Zidane. We were just on the Hilda Garde, and
suddenly we were swooped into that gigantic tornado over the island."
"Smell good food. Smell like frogs!" Quina Quen ran off down the
twisting path.
"Quina!" Eiko called out. "Wait up!" Eiko chased Quina off to a large
bridge.
"Why are those two always running off? Idiots." Amarant looked down
at his boots and spit over the edge off the path.
"Don't say that. Quina is just a little…. interesting." Freya chittered and
then ran off to follow the other two.
Dagger looked down the winding paths. Tons of risings and loops made
her dizzy. Vivi looked over the edge. It seemed to go down forever.
"I feel sick." Vivi shoved over a little closer to what remained of the
group.
"C'mon, we don't got all day." Amarant ran off to follow the others.
"Alright then," Zidane said. "Let's head off." Zidane and Vivi walked down
the unfertile path. Steiner helped Dagger down some stairs and they ran off.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

The group had come to a curving bridge. Zidane looked around for any
trouble, and slowly crossed. Almost immediately, a patch of strange looking
goblins flew up from underneath the overpass. They immediately flew down
near the ground and wove their hands around.

"Leave now," one said. "Or you will be destroyed by our master." They
hovered over Zidane and shot a beam straight at him. The ray went through him, and caused his death immediately.
"Zidane!" Dagger ran up to the body and quickly started to transmit some
magic to him. Zidane suddenly sprouted from his eternal coma. Vivi ran up to
the two goblins and waved his grand staff at them. A huge ball of pure fire flew
into the air and hit the beasts straight in the chests. They shifted back a bit, and
flew away, destabilized.
"Smell good yum-yums." Quina took a whiff around the surrounding area.
"Civilization!" She yelled as she ran over the bridge. "Food, food, food, food,
FOOD."
"Quina!" Zidane rolled his eyes and then chased after her. Everyone else
followed closely behind. "Wait a minute." Zidane abruptly halted. "I… I think
I recognize this place."
"That's because we've been going around in circles." Eiko remarked.
"Let's actually go somewhere now."
"No… I mean I recognize it from a long time ago, but just vaguely."
Zidane took a firm glance around. Vivi shifted his hat.
"Perhaps you've been here before in the past?" he asked. Zidane started
running again.
"Nah! I would be able ta' tell!" Zidane called off in the distance.
"Okay…" Vivi began to follow Zidane. "I doubt that though. The people
here look just like you."
"People? Where?" Zidane swooped around.
"Down there!" Vivi pointed down to a strange settlement down below the
railings on the sides of the paths. A bridge from Vivi's feet led down to the
town. "The houses look pretty weird."
