Hi, this is the second chapter to my story.
"So, you going to the party tonight?" asked Caroline.
"I don't know," I replied.
"Come on, you should go since this is out last one," Bonnie argued.
"Fine. I might leave early though."
"As long as you go, everything will be fine," said Caroline.
"You ready?" said Bonnie as she rapped lightly on the door.
"Yeah, just let me grab a sweater."
I grabbed my sweater and headed down the stairs right after Bonnie. We went outside and hopped into the car. It was a silent ride there. There was no conversation at all. When we stopped to park, Bonnie put it in park but didn't turn off the car.
"Are you alright?" she asked.
"Yes, why does everybody ask that?" I snapped. I grabbed my jacket and hopped out of the car. My eyes felt like they were starting to sting from the tears. I walked into the woods and followed one of the foot paths. Along the way it felt like it was starting to get colder out. I snuggled into my sweater wishing I hadn't taken off into the woods. At a path intersection, I took a seat on a rickety, wooden bench. I looked up and saw the moon perfectly through the trees. The stars were so bright out tonight. A cracking of a branch nearby scared her. She looked over and saw a figure emerging from one of the paths. As it got closer she saw that it was a boy. She tried to see his features and saw who it was. Maddox. Her breath caught and she couldn't say a thing.
"What are you doing out here?" he said. "Are you alone?"
"Yea?" I said just as a ton of emotions hit me. My eyes started to water and sting. She never cried around people, but for some reason she couldn't stop it. They started to spill over her eyelids.
"Are you okay? Are you crying?" he asked her.
She couldn't talk but she nodded.
He walked over to her and sat next to her. His arm went and wrapped itself around her shoulders. He slowly took his thumb and wiped away a tear off of her cheek.
Why is he being so nice to me? He doesn't even know me. A boy. So caring for some stranger. How could he be like that. It was unreal. His hand was rubbing all the tears off of my face. His eyes searched my face for my eyes. I looked deep into them and it was like an empty pit. There was love in them though. He leaned forward and looked deep into my eyes. Then he slowly leaned up and...
There was another rustling in the woods and his head jerked to the left, He stood and wondered a few steps away. He seemed to move with such grace. It's like he's been doing it for a long time.
"We should probably go," he said.
She stood up and started walking towards him. He walked along with her and back to where the party was. She grabbed Bonnie and told her she wanted to go home.
"I can drive you," Maddox said.
"Okay," she said and told Bonnie goodbye. They walked over to his truck and he opened the door for her. She got in and buckled up. He hopped into the truck and started it up. As he began to drive, she started to get tired. She leaned her head against the window and closed her eyes. The low roar of the truck was making her even more sleepy. He turned on the heater and the truck started to warm instantly. She fell asleep in the coziness of his truck.
