"Do you really think she'll be able to put up with this much more?" the taller dark haired male spoke. He stood behind the spiked blue haired boy, who had been at his weapon's bedside for hours now in the infirmary. Tsubaki rested in the bed covered in powdery white bandages. Her injuries from the previous mission she and BlackStar took on. The blue haired boy felt his fist clench the bed sheet. He refused to look at Kid.
"She'll be fine," he replied in a grim voice.
"She'll be fine? That's all you can say?!" Kid placed his hand onto the boy's shoulder and forced him to face one another. BlackStar glared daggers into Kid. "You have been pushing yourself further and further to the point where she can't even keep up with you. You said you wanted to get stronger. You said you wanted to protect your friends, but just look at Tsubaki." The boy gripped the other's hand and pushed it off. Now standing, they looked eye to eye.
"I don't need your advice," BlackStar barked. "I handle whatever gets thrown at me. So just leave me alone!" he demanded. Kid took a step forward, getting in his face.
"Leave you alone?!" he mimicked. "You risked your partner's life. You're lucky she's even alive right not. Just because you have to make yourself a sitting duck doesn't mean she has to be part of. You call yourself an assassin, but what assassin goes out and bluntly makes their presence known? If Soul and Maka weren't there when they were, you would have lost your weapon for good! Do you understand you can't just do this. You need to learn how to control yourself. You think you have the upper hand but you're completely reckless!" The taller male's brows furrowed as BlackStar's cross look stood still. "You think you can do these things but you just can't, BlackStar. Stop acting like a child and own up to your responsibilities." They stood silhouetted in silence. There was nothing more he could say or do at this point to get through to him. With a loud huff, he felt he was done. He left the room in solemn silence.
BlackStar sat back down as he left the room. Kid's words lingered cruelly in his mind. He never wanted to admit to his own stupid mistake. Not to Kid. But, he was right. Tsubaki was hurt and it was all his fault. He took a deep breath and stared at her with weary eyes. He was terrified.
