Don thought he was going to lose his mind. He was supposed to be paying attention to the evidence, to the way the C.S.I.s were connecting the perp to the crime. But leaning over Stella's shoulder, he found that the only thing he could focus on was the smell of her perfume.

She had been driving him crazy for almost three weeks now. He had always recognized that she was an attractive woman – a guy would have to be blind not to. He sensed, though, that it had gone past mere attraction at some point, and now he couldn't get her out of his mind.

Inwardly shaking himself, Don realized that he had no idea what Stella was talking about. He tried to refocus on the evidence, but he made the mistake of glancing up at her first. Instead of meeting her eyes, his gaze landed on her lips and he was lost.

Without thinking – without even trying – Flack leaned in and brushed his lips against hers. The kiss was faint and gentle, but it made Stella freeze, her eyes wide in shock. Don pulled back, the butterflies suddenly erupting in his stomach as he realized what he had just done.

Stella looked down at the file on her desk, moving the papers around with shaking hands. "Did you…did you just kiss me?" she asked, keeping her head down.

Don turned so that he was perpendicular to her, but his eyes roamed around the room. "Yeah," he said quietly.

She nodded, still not looking at him. "Did you mean to?"

Flack swallowed hard. "Yeah."

She nodded again, trying to calm her nerves and lighten her tone. "Maybe, uh…maybe next time you should make it more…obvious."

His took a shaky breath, finally letting his gaze rest on her profile. "Do I…do I get a next time?"

She glanced over at him before turning her eyes back to the folder. "Yeah."

With that one word, all the restraint that Flack had flew out the window. Taking her face in his hands, he turned Stella slowly, letting his thumbs caress her lips. Their eyes locked, and suddenly, he was certain that the attraction wasn't one-sided. Leaning in, he kissed her again, tilting his head to take it deeper. When her tongue touched his, his brain exploded, scattering his thoughts as they were caught up in the blaze.

Mac stepped into Stella's office without knocking – they had gotten past that long ago. But as he opened his mouth to speak, he looked up and stopped.

Stella and Flack were completely caught up in each other, their kisses slow and deep. Neither of them registered Mac's presence as they held on to the other tightly, lost in their own world.

He watched them for a minute, a smile on his face. He had been watching them for the past few weeks, noting the little changes in the way they interacted. It actually surprised him that it had taken them this long to get together.

With a satisfied nod, Mac backed out of the office, closing the door behind him.
